As John said I have just installed an electronic ignition system. I used an Accel street billet distributor and an Accel liquid cooled super coil. The car runs way better with this set-up as the old points distributor had problems. I took it out for a drive and the old girl has really woken up although now the ignition system has been sorted it has shown up a problem with the carby, it hesitates slightly under heavy acceleration. I might just put up with this for now and upgrade my carby and manifold next year.
