All holes are done ready for putty thank f#$&

Just scrolling back a page Trofa, I noticed you didn't weld up the holes for the wiper motor on the plenum so I assume you're leaving it in the standard location, yet you've filled the holes in the back of the bonnet that are there for clearance to the wiper motor when the bonnet closes?

I think Dirtbag had the same issue on his brother's UC - LX conversion?

EDIT: see here:

I only closed the bonnet for the first time today since making the new intake pipe and engine covers, so had my fingers crossed. I was right though, plenty of room.

The wiper motor was a close one though since I welded the hole up where it usually sits into in the bonnet.

and here:

Finally got the wiper mechs painted so could fit the wiper motor

Sorry I didn't see it sooner. Assuming you don't want to repaint the bonnet, you could always move the wiper motor?

ls2lxhatch has some ideas on this webpage:

i got a wiper motor from a mitsubishi lancer and mounted it under the vent cowl so it was out of my engine bay.

only thing i couldn't work out was the intermittent setting, so they just run 1&2 speed. saying that I've never actually used the wipers for intended purposes

the cutout section is there to let the motor slide out incase it ever shit itself. its just a case of removing the vent cowl and undoing two bolts and a plug

Thank you all for the info. I have today off work so ill have a look at what my options are. I was thinking of maybe a hole saw where it going to hit. Im sure Holden would have allowed plenty of room with there stamped cut out. What a bitch to focussed on finished product to take in account the bloody wiper motor :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :wtf: :furious: :nopity: :sucker:

Hey mate, I'm on my phone so can't post a pic at the moment but if you go to Torana Wedding Car Hire page on Facebook and look through the pics you will see a Barbados green torana with a smoothed under bonnet like yours. He seems to have inserted a little metal pocket to allow room for his wiper motor. Looks very neat imo. Perhaps you could do something like that?

Not sure but I'd guess that's a fibreglass bonnet, damn it looks ugly all smooth like that.

Knowing Brian I'm sure it's a all metal bonnet.

Yeah that's the one I was talking about, I had never actually paid much attention to the mod for the wiper motor until I read about the issue here on this thread and then it became obvious what it was for. Haven't seen this car in the flesh but looks like a very neat bay from the pics. Hoping to achieve a similar look but haven't gone to the extent of having everything smoothed out like that, just the usual firewall and wheel arches.

And of course the cutout on the other side of the bonnet is for LHD exports where the wiper motor is mounted on the other side of the plenum.

No doubt all here have seen this but for future readers there is a new thread with info on relocating the wiper motor here:

http://www.gmh-toran...ocation-hiding/

EDIT: Marc, if you have more detail/photos, can you add your version to the new thread as well, the more info in one place, the better.
