Like it! Will be a great everyday driver with a bigger engine like a 202 as these are so light. I wouldn't bother with a 5spd, an Aussie 4spd M20 (3.05) with a 3.08:1 diff will be fine with 14" rims as the car is so low.

yeah was thinking about keeping it, its alright for around the streets but as soon as you get on the highway it needs that extra gear it starts to rev to hard, plus i've got a 202 with a 5 speed already on it with the cross member and tail shaft to fit a hr ute.

You'll probably want a 3.36 or 3.55 diff with the 5spd with 14" rims. I knew a bloke that had a HR ute with a mega buck hipo triple Webered 202 in it, it used to scream. Engine was too good for the vintage of the suspension and brakes though! You'd want to be thinking of at least HG front brakes and rear drums when you go to 14" wheels, these are what the HT GTS350 won Bathurst with.

They do but they are not really much better than an original HR setup. The HG stuff bolts on too, and are bigger in both discs and drums. and work fine with 14" HK-HG wheels.

wheels are going to be black, and once the tyres wear down abit i can get some white walls for it, because you cant put whitewalls on brand new tyres because they have to much oil left in them, tyres are going to be done by retro tyres

ohh and im going to run no hubcaps

Those flappers are a POS. Don't use them. Also they are technically illegal.

going to get it up to the old mechanics that i used to do some work at and get it up on the hoist to check everything out and talk about getting the gearbox replaced, the wheels, the diff, and the get the new coils and leafs made up all in one go should be a long day of work
