I was thinking the same thing, i honestly don't recall it, i think it was introduced in the LX range, Outer, or Red would know exactly.I know a guy with a nice boring chamois A9X hatch
But can't say I know of an L34 the same
Was chamois an LH colour ?
Maybe the fellow was referring to a 4 door A9X, NOT AN l34?

The A9X was bought new as well I'm pretty sure. I'll have to ask him again but I think he said he bought them from Melbourne and had them brought to Mandurah WA if that lines up with your records?Well if he swapped his L34 for an Absinth yellow hatch he went from one rare colour to another considering only one hatch was made in that colour. I'm not sure on the L34. Did he buy the hatch new or second hand because that yellow hatch spent a few years in my shed.
He said also he has a bunch of photos, I have to see if I can track some down

it says that there were a total of 9 A9X's made in Chamois.
4 were Hatch's
5 were Sedan's
3 of the sedans had the G70 (2.60:1) diff gears, the other 2 had GU4 (3.08:1)
all hatches were with the GU4 diff gears
2 sedans and 1 hatch had State Black interior
2 sedans and 2 hatches had Chamois interior
1 sedan and 1 hatch had Tan interior.
Im scanning in the pages at work and will upload 'em when i get a chance. Not entirely sure how accurate this information is, some references have been quotes in the story tho. hopefully someone out there can confirm this
