Hmm they are different as i have just found out. I bought a set of repro guards and nosecone cheap from someone who had purchased and wasn't using them. The nosecone is lc and on the box of the guards it said they were to suit lj, and well of course i didn't check my original lc guard for differences because they were so damaged. So now i don't know what to do. The guards are fixed on and all panels are aligned but my headlight surrounds do not fit.
Will lj headlight surrounds fit if i modify the inner edge to fit up to the lc grille? Has any one done anything like this?

Thanks

The bonnet catch and support are not the same on LC - LJ.

I stand corrected again. The lock lever is different.

Cheers
Dave.

Why not modify the LJ guards to fit LC headlight surrounds? Its only a small change...

I think the inner front doors are different as well. The LJ's have a hole in front of the door handle for the ashtrays to recess into; LC doors don't have that hole.

that is also correct oz772

Yeah Right. Thanks Guys. appreciated

I was mainly interested in body identifiers - I recently looked at a GTR car being sold as an LJ, but had clearly started life as an LC. Was just wanting check what to look for in this case.

I have a reasonable idea of XU1 Identifiers, So I was keen on just overall body difference.

Thanks

easy answer has the rear quater indicator lights been welded or bogged up or have they changed the rear quaters???

and the answer to the fellar that have lj guards on there cars and want them to be lc get a oxy a dolly hammer and a drill and go to work not to hard, just becareful how much heat you apply.

look fellars there are many changes between these 2 models 69 is dif to 70 and 70 is dif to 71 and 71 is dif to 72 and 72 is dif to 73...4cyl are dif to 6es and in there year they are also dif to each other, you would be here all xmas tring to write it all down has said before you need year as well as model

You have to drill a hole and cut a slot in the outer face of the guard for a clip. You'll notice on the LC headlight bezel there is a screw hole in the upper ribbed part of the bezel, if thet make sense.

S pack is on the money

and you will need to drill the hole under the first hole and then file this into a little square for the same clip

Gong - DG is indeed a very rare colour.

This pic makes it No. 3 in this colour that I am aware of - mine, Qld Torry Club and now this one.

69 to very early 70 LC had bump stops on the inner guard as to on front end.. Discovered that today.... and only 2 plates.. no compliance only body id and VIN... Both on LH side radiator support panel...

stretchlc

Different Accelerator Pedals
that will depend on the year as this change came with the all aussie 4 speet from he opel in july 71

mikecatts

69 to very early 70 LC had bump stops on the inner guard as to on front end.. Discovered that today.... and only 2 plates.. no compliance only body id and VIN... Both on LH side radiator support panel...

has these upper wish bones have square welded to them for the bump stops to hit and like the 1970 lc these 2 years dont have the seat belt bolts and triangle bracket welded in the rear parcel tray, but this is adr proved, like alot of the body changes.

and these points are the reason why i asked what year, has there are many changes between the parts and bodys of the lc and lj over the 4 years
the best way to do this is note the changes from 69-70 and then move to 70-71 and so on, i just aint got the time but if some one has a question just ask i dont mind answering them i just dont want to write a book

lj doors also have a reinforcement panel welded into the top of the inner door frame where the inner belt mould (felt) attaches. Not sure when it was introduced.
