G'day All

 

A new Toranafest is creeping up on us but some things will remain the same (old) and for me, that is the drive up and back.

 

My starting point is home here in Cootamundra at 7am on the Friday morning.

 

Should reach south Goulburn Maccas for a pit stop about 9am and leave 'bout 9.30am

 

Next stop is a the first truck stop on the M7 (Westlink), probably around 11am then leave 'bout 11.30'ish

 

Normally don't stop at Thornleigh Maccas as finding a car park there is like going around in circles and that is what you have to do to find one.

 

Wyong twin Caltex servo is the  next  stop around the 1pm mark and leave maybe 1.30 and onto the Fest motel.

 

So has anyone planned their drive up/down/across to the Fest and what day/time are you leaving

I think the driver is showing his age and it probably will be a slow trip.

Hi Pops......sorry bit I live only about 10 minutes from T/Fest....so hard pressed to stop at Maccas along the way....ha.ha

 

p.s ...after I read your post, I went and had a look on Gooooogle maps to see just where Cootamundra was...........I was having a look around the streets and saw this!!!!...has Rolf Harris secretly emigrated back to Cootamundra to escape all the attention in the old Blighty???

I may be coming up on the Friday now too with Rob350hatch, Im sure he was thinking of leaving just after lunch sometime so we will get there a while after you guys.

A convoy of Toranas is a formidable sight and puts the wind up the Ffffffford drivers.

 

Gives me great pleasure when a Ffffffford comes revving up from behind to make his presence known and then zooms off into the distance while I just keep on driving looking "cool"

 

Well, as cool as a decrepid grey headed old fart can be driving an SS Hatchback

A few of us from STC are meeting at my place for bacon and egg rolls and pancakes. ALL WELCOME to come over

 

9.30-10.30 Friday then meet up with Poppy around 11.00 on the M7

Drive down to the M7 and meet us at the truck stop

 

A part of my Toranafest experience is the drive to and from the Fest

 

I think this time my passenger Gary wants to come back via Katoomba and Bathurst which is a lot better than down the boring Hume Highway

good idea barry....but its my first time at T/Fest and by all accounts its gunna be big......registration #s  apparently ahead of previous years.....so I'm red hot to get in there early and score a spot.......its only about 6-7 km from home....so the trip down the F3 sounds good, but...............

It is Friday morning at 'bout 11am that we will be at the truck stop on the M7

 

But I understand that not all can come up to the Fest on the Friday due to work commitments

 

If you are with a club and they are attending then your club will have the parking space for you

Excited   Every time I go for a run in the SS it wants to keep on heading NORTH

 

Going to the Wombat Hotel on Sunday for lunch with our car club so I'm gunna havda hold back the reigns or I'll over-shoot the turn off to the pub
