hopefully daryl
you have put the flares back on by the time you read this!
looks a bit like monster truck/torana
in that last pic
good pic up dude and welcome to the a9x owners club!

cheers mate and lol about the monster truck look yeah I know I have trial fitted them but need to get some more of the piping stuff that goes between them and the panels as the old stuff is no good anymore...

Hi darryl congrat's mate what a lucky find, im sure the pain will ease now that you replaced the lj with a A9X, hey just a thought, can you find me one now LOL ..  Hope you get alot of enjoyment and fun times driving this car as you did with the lj, owning a classic like this is a dream for many, myself included, mate done....

thanks mate im sure I will get a lot of enjoyment once its put back together im missing the lj but I think I made the right decision...

Hey a9x868 good to see im not going mad with the chalk markings on the floor...the piping on the left hand front flare has snapped in the middle I also have to get that flare fixed as it has a piece broken off but I still have the piece...im going to see if a good panel beater can fix the dent in the nose cone and lh guard as I want to keep the original panels on the car...will post a pic of the dents a bit later to show you mate...

G,day mate, following your thread with interest, great to see another Red taxi being saved. Unless your piping is absolute trash try to reuse. After market piping is easy to pick.........PM me for a trick. Dave is correct, your chalk marks are what you would expect to see on the floor.

If originality is that important, just put it back together all smashed up and you can say its truly original. Obviously make the lights work etc but with those panel dings it should be all legal still. Might jag an originality trophy :P

great car Daryl, you are doing the same as I did with the L34, cleaning, checking and re-using as much as possible. I am pleased I did as it gives the car a history for people to see, plus stone chips don't really matter, anyway good luck and look forward to catching up with you and the A9X one day soon. cheers Gary

Excellent decision re wounds and all. As a boy I had that mag with your car in it and dreamed of owning my own torri one day.

Will watch with jealous interest you "not" restoring your A9X.

Cheers,

So the story behind the dented guard. My mate was at summernats 10 . After quiet a few brews he decided to show off to a nice young lady and take her for a spin. After a couple of laps did a nice burnout back tyres hit the grass and flicked him sideways into a mk1 euro escort. ouch!!!
