My ute has them. C A P A put them in as it was purchased from them new.
IMO the LS engine is a chev so who gives a ff''''' If a commodore has a chev badge on it?
I got bagged by a f wit one night about it. Then watched him get into a piece of shit 2lt turbo box thing.
I politely told him milk and juice come in 2ltrs.
Found it even more funny when he tried to run me and I passed him in second gear side ways.
Each to their own I guess

Chevrolete hasnt actually manufactured an engine since the 80's.
The LS series is built by GM Powertrain divisions.
They use these engines in any number of different GM makes, not just chev.
So yes, the engine is used in chevs, but its not a chev engine. Like calling a TD42 in a Ford Maverick a Ford engine....It ain.
Cheers.

Im also one of those guys who never actually caught the salmon shirt craze, i still think there frOcking pink.
If you want to badge your car after the engine, this is the badge you should have in the grille/on the back.

I think the chev badge looks good on the newer Monaros
Your kidding surely? MONARO is an Awstraylyn brand? Maybe stick Camaro badges on it too?

The V8 engines built by Chevrolet are considered Gen 1.
The GM small-block series was a "clean sheet" design with little in common in terms of shared parts with the classic Chevrolet small block V8. The basic layout owes a good deal to the essential concept of Ed Cole's original small-block design of 1954-55, though the small-block engine also uses design cues from Buick, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac engines.

Gen 2 1992-1997 LT1
Gen 3 1997-2007 LS1
Gen 4 2005 -

GM Powertrain traces its history to the myriad of automotive companies that combined to form GM in 1908. These companies included: Chevrolet, Pontiac, Buick, Oldsmobile and Cadillac. For many decades, each division produced its own engines and transmissions. In time, it became evident that efficiency improvements could be made with increased administrative and manufacturing cooperation between all divisions. The consolidation began in 1983, with the assignment of the Toledo, Ohio Chevrolet and the Windsor, Ontario GM of Canada transmission plants to the Hydra-Matic division. The "marriage" of the Hydra-Matic and GM Engine divisions in 1990, resulted in GM Powertrain.
This is always good for a laugh.

All I said was they look good on a Monaro, talk about jumping to conclusions.
Besides Holden pulled out of this country so you better get used to seeing more chevs on the road.

Um, no, I think you'll find the Chevs will have Holden badges on them. Holden are just no longer manufacturing here.
