Std springs for upfront.nxt i think i better start thinking about what black to do the front kframe.ppg cobra 2k 60% satin black comes to mind.i will use this also on undercarriage, dash & underdash and blackouts if i go that way.will b taking the lca's down to gonzo to straighten and weld those strengthening plates on very soon ..just giving the epoxy some time to cure so it doesnt get knocked about too much.getting there slowly but surely..will start looking like a bloody car soon once that fronts on.cant wait..Attached File  20220712_144528.jpg   805.9K   4 downloads

Been awhile..progress has been awfully slow.everyone is just busy busy busy down here.so I’m stuck on a snails pace for now.

I do have the discs drilled out to 4.75 with 1/2 studs pressed in and the springs powder coated ..the k frame is in Craig’s body works and they have just started the process of pressing in the bushes then paint it nxt.I cba finding the right satin to use so went jet black .I didn’t realise zips powder coating could do satin till after taking frame to Craig’s but I think painting it will last longer and easier to redo..Peter Nash should b close to finishing the steering rack so I should have the front back under bt Chrissy.

one more thing ticked off.bought all new bolts for everything as well…..i think 🤔

Cheers Dave..the steering rack I sent to Peter Nash is flogged out but he has a mate that has some parts so hopefully those parts he has are good and can reco one up for me..might have to add some more shims to the kframe as tires have a little pos camber going on.will b interesting how she sits when a donk get put in…Farrk knows how long that will b .once the racks in and steering column I will put her on a trailer and take her down the the fabricator and show him what he’s in for..if he agrees to take it on I will get onto Dave at aps engineering to come over and start the engineering side on what is and isn’t acceptable..gee I can’t wait for that day..it can’t come sooner enough.

please note-bolt length supplied suit pbr cast iron calipers…..looks good from here.big castle nut on stub  isn’t done up yet, will b doing that up once wheels on…Attached File  9ED20E9F-FC48-4039-B935-12B24101B0E5.jpeg   399.41K   1 downloadsAttached File  54D78BA1-B783-48CD-92DB-08F59B08EC89.jpeg   352.57K   1 downloadsAttached File  52E50BC4-2F2A-475C-BE7F-1ACCE56EF0D8.jpeg   157.42K   1 downloads

Just sitting here pondering on the ride height.I know a lot of shits gotta go on but i def think I will have to have lowered springs in the front..front guard lip is 60-65mm to tire and the rear is 60mm off the ground.the rears will b raised an inch I’d say and once ,doors are complete, new floor, back window.bumper, tank full of juice etc etc she will b back to where it’s sitting.off the bat I’d say 30mm lower at the front should go close..no point doing anything yet till she’s all together .starting to get a little mojo back just looking at her.

wonder what she would look like with the side butterfly windows deleted and at rear also..delete the rear door handle?.weld the rears doors up?..soo much shit going on in my head.lol.Attached File  9059F040-CE45-4733-9661-6CE9EC199F1A.jpeg   482.09K   1 downloads

Decided to fit the bonnet back on to see whether I would have to unpick the rhs bonnet hinge support bracket attached to the inner guard..was quite surprised, relieved and happy all at the same time that I don’t have to redo it.pretty much near perfect apart from I can’t adjust the bonnet sideways because the washers have no area to move in there slots.just needs moving right 2 mm max and it would b spot on.Attached File  476F5867-9A8F-42E2-ABB7-D90AE682D492.jpeg   312.09K   2 downloadsAttached File  52660490-7FF4-4B47-9C3B-7227B8B5ADAD.jpeg   281.76K   4 downloadsAttached File  0952F4AF-B973-4695-96EF-41850EC3CE4C.jpeg   352.23K   3 downloadsAttached File  CDA97F94-AEC0-4E2E-BE82-3BA337C6B459.jpeg   479.56K   3 downloadsAttached File  BFF2BB2A-B954-4A52-BFC9-128F107E18D0.jpeg   86.87K   3 downloadsAttached File  1D11F8CB-4636-4F40-8659-28F8D1D6A347.jpeg   109.5K   3 downloads

Hi Maz, looking good. Bonnets are a PITA to line up. Get your nose support and catch in place first, that'll help push the nose up and in bit. I used some spacers between hinge and body to get side ways movement.

Mojo is in short supply ATM.

Marty

Putting them on by yourself is a pain in the butt too haha.I’m not going to do anymore to the bonnet but I will take note of getting the catch on before I start once she’s all painted.now that will b awhile.threw the steering column in and wheel..man she’s starting to look more like a car  just by adding a few things on.that wheel will go well with the classic recaro seats.I think I should stick with the lj sports dash too keeping a little of the old Skool look..Attached File  321E9655-5671-4970-83AE-AD7DED6A6C15.jpeg   361.15K   3 downloadsAttached File  BB2C2F4E-5170-4451-87EE-D0931CDC80FB.jpeg   296.37K   2 downloads

Hi Andrew.. I think this is all of them.i haven’t included 1ea of the control rod non locking nut and one locking nut.you should b able to get those okay when you take the rod in to the nut& bolt shop.I had to use those and the top shocky bolt….I think that’s all of what you need…and spring washers for all bar control rod.Attached File  00053B65-BAB6-474B-940F-FFCA3FB05B0C.jpeg   317.79K   6 downloads
