Nothing as simple as that..

Standard Commodore cable comes into this side and activates this mechanism...

ToranaT56-Clutch1.jpg

Which has a hydraulic output that goes to the passenger side which activates this...

ToranaT56-Clutch2.jpg

Which activates this fork

Not what I was expecting, so the mechanism in the first photo is being relocated, most likely to the firewall, for a more direct actuation from the clutch pedal. If we didn't relocate that mechanism would need more surgery to the tunnel.

How cumbersome. They designed it with more ways to go wrong, lol.

I’m going hydraulic in the Mustang (T5), have already gone hydraulic for the LX (Supra g’box).  I don’t like the unreliability I’ve had with cables, issues with both cars.

I was thinking of going an external slave cylinder for the Mustang, my mechanic said I’d have to modify/buy a new fork, an adaptor for the slave that attaches to the box as well as the cylinder itself.  He advised to go with the hydraulic concentric slave, one internal unit and less working parts.

On another forum I’ve questioned Mal's kit and a member there who races Mustangs says he uses them without issues. He puts quick release connectors on the hoses to make changes quicker.

I like the Mal Wood hydraulic clutch pedal but budget...the idea of buying the VR box that it was a bolt up fit to the 304.

So you're going cable?

Still working on it. Hydraulic actuator from pic 1 will be relocated and actuated more directly.

Cable actuated?

If so, be sure to keep the cable well away from the headers/exhausts and you may need to reinforce the firewall.

The way I am thinking about is relocate the hydraulic actuator to the fire wall, cable from clutch pedal to actuator, hydraulic from then on. Hopefully have photos before Xmas

How about the CRS hydraulic master cylinder?

You could use the top half of their kit which has an adaptor for the a master cylinder which is from an old Holden.

Near bottom of this page.

Ditch their hose for a braided one.

The hydraulic actuator in pic 1 is really a hydraulic master cylinder activated by a cable with a funky bracket to hold it onto the gearbox. Hopefully we can mount it somewhere on the firewall reasonably easily.

Best of luck. Be sure to get back with photos, I'm keen to see how this one works out.
