I here you Dave, in my view some of the problem is there are so many different personalities and members with some many different educations levels.
Sometimes things we type don't come out what we are trying to say and others take it very differently which in some cases can start the hornets nest.
And yes I have been guilty of it.
At the end of the day we are all here for one reason and that is Torana's.

I'm only new to the forum , join because I want to get some idea's on the best way to fix my car and what other guys on here were doing to there's.
Lot's of help has come my way and when I can help with a picture or two as my car is very standed I do.
I will never understand, why some people act the way they do.
My only hope is the that the guys the real hands on knowledge continue to contribute.

you can change your ip if your a genious, which depending on accounts made prior and so on can't be linked back to that username.

I have two IP addresses, one on my Window7, and one on my Virtual XP

Yes but if you are using the same Internet connection then you only have one external IP Dave which is what can be traced back to you.

Hi all

Hi Craig,
When I was on a Train Forum, I had two addresses, where I could do both Usernames from the same Computer/ Carrier Mate,
as when there, one user name was used for Awards, and the other for Personal.
So I do know they are separate.

Still Traced back to me, but two different IP's.
Because, you cannot have two Usernames on one IP.
So in other words, we could talk to ones self.

Last time i got banned i could not log on through either my home or work ip adresses.... Trust me they know somehow.
Hang on.... Gordy ? That wasnt his name was it ? Similar maybe... .?
Even though your two PC's may have different external IP's, you still have a gateway that you connect to the Internet through, whether that be at home or at work.
I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to block all traffic from a particular gateway.
Maybe it was Gordy, he was ok at first but then started being difficult.
There are others too.

If you have used the account on one computer that ip is saved to that account.
So if i had say three accounts
hamo1
hamo2
hamo3
And i used each one on this computer with this internet then that ip is saved to that account and will be banned when your ip is banned.
On another forum i was mod on when people used to evade (change ips) you had some usernames linked to over 50 different ip adresses.
Also some times if you are just banned they could possibly watch for new user accounts with similar ip adress to yours which would give them a match.
-annnd that depends on the mod cp (mod control panel) and the server host and so on
