Geez Maz, that's a beauty.

I'd leave it as it is, slow but cooool.  You have your rocket ship 4 door build to get your thrills from.

That's my thoughts, do what you want but I will shed a tear when I see that drive line swapped.

Maybe don't make any decisions for a while, sleep on your ideas and talk to more people.

Awesome car,  well done!  You're a two door owner now :-)

Marty

Bloody nice car. I don't mean to pry but what sort of money are we talking about? My friend recently bought a 2 door LJ coupe for under 10k and. everyone is saying he paid too much. His is missing a motor but is otherwise complete.

You can pick up a motor cheap as chips so I reckon your mate has done ok, especially if it has rego and/or is otherwise in good nick.

But you know what Taylor Swift says, haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate.

Not their money to worry about.

Don't think so Blair.
When I got mine it had no original interior, a drop tank, welded seat head rests, wrong wheels and a fair bit of rust and needed restoring.
Also came with a four speed aussie, Sprntmasters, GTR flutes and dash. It was calling out to be converted.
They're my excuses anyway. :-)

Hey guys ive being trying to get the front springs out and the lower ball joint is seized.ive used a block buster which usually never fails

but its stuck fast .crc'd it and bought one of those ball joint seperators and its threaded the thread just about and bent the little bolt.ive tried 2 ways with the crapola tool and she never moved a mm

ive only got basic tools and i think i need something like a porta power to go between the top and lower ball joints like a jack .

Anyone got any ideas.......even another lc lower wishbone and stub i could purchaseAttached File  torrie pics 544.jpg   103.95K   5 downloadsAttached File  torrie pics 545.jpg   85.06K   4 downloads

Put nut back on ball joint, put stub in straight line position, put a heavy dolly on one side of  where the taper seat is (block splitter),hit other side of taper seat opposite to where dolly is,it should pop off after a few blows under spring pressure.

Same deal with top,do top first if planning on doing both.

who's used the rear top insulator rubbers from rares for top spring.i used the original as to me it didnt look like the tab on rubber was going to be near the hole in the metal support took abit of mucking about to get a ratchet in spring and extension.

how did you guys use those rubbers.did you take the original rubber off support and did it line up with hole

Maz, the rear spring rubber insulators Rares sell are exacting copies of the genuine insulators to suit LJ and late LC.

They will fit the same as your original insulators.

I will take the lhs one out tomoroz and show ya

Can see why i thought had the wrong insulatators, well i have actually.would have to drill a hole through plate for the notch and use a longer fine spline bolt as it would be hard to push up and spread the flange on insulater to get the bolt in holeAttached File  MY 69 LC TORANA 041.jpg   88.19K   4 downloadsAttached File  MY 69 LC TORANA 042.jpg   88.76K   6 downloads

Yes Maz they are the early or 1st type LC rear spring insulator (Rares haven't done a repro of those yet). To use the smaller LJ insulator you need the matching metal plate from an LJ.

Also just before i came inside i put another indicator globe in rear did have some newies from rares but they have given me the wrong ones tutts

Anyway i turned the right indicator on and rear and side are working but also the left rear and side are on and  not flashing  and when i turn the left on it happens to the right side i never looked at anything as i will tomorroz.just thought id pop that up and see if you guy would know the cause.it does have a trailor plug which i think could be the culprit as the wiring is going to the right rear indicator .didnt look at other one but im guessing it would be

Maz
