Where's the brass bush that aligns the self adjuster with the shoe. It fits the hole where the shoe retention pin goes through.

Directly below your thumb in this pic.

Good point S pack ... this is off an LH..very similar set up, in this case it is a pressed metal piece where the pin comes through ( to the right of about 4 coils down below thumb knuckle)

LH is same as LJ actually. This pic is rears not fronts . Bush/ferrule is brassy looking so probably made of yellow zinc metal not brass.

Yeah similar style to those, unfortunately the accelerator bush won't fit the brakes.

Now you know why the lower springs were installed the wrong way around. To stop the adjusters from adjusting all by themselves.

The self adjuster mechanisms are next to useless without that alignment/pivot bush/ferrule.

Failing finding some genuine ferrules you could have some spun up on a lathe. From memory they have a wall thickness of no more than about .5mm

Unfortunately some people don't seem to realise the importance of putting back everything they removed.

Those ferrules should be the same for all Torana (not incl HB, LC & LJ 4cyl) and H series Holden drum brakes up to and including WB.

So there should be some floating around somewhere.

I've got a spare set of front drum brakes in the shed Maz. Pulled off my old 4 door when doing disc conversion. Shout out if you need them.

just a small question guys.gee this is becoming a habit.i hate asking all the time.

just about to adjust the tie rods and get them in a better position before i take to pit then to town later to get it all alighed

would it be better to have the vehicle on ground when i do them then jacked up .thinking if drooping i will have to wind them out a fraction more?

Wheels must be on the ground to adjust the toe. Just get the toe adjustment as close as you can. When the wheel alignment is done they will do any final adjustments.
