Hopefully he gets to run it at Bathurst - let's see if he can break his own Touring Car Masters lap record set late last year in the Mustang (was previously held by a HQ).

Two Torana's in the top 5 race one at Hidden Valley - John Bowe in 2nd & Jason Gomersall 5th....Awesome to see the Torana's at the pointy end.

I just had a read of the governing rules. Would be interesting to see a HQ sedan up against an LH-LX. A HQ sedan with 308 is set with the same minimum weight of 1450kg, same max revs of 8000rpm and same tyres allowed. Suspension setup is very adjustable so both cars can be made to handle. Would be a cool comparison how the slightly wider and longer car with the same weight and engine would go. You can also run a HQ with a 350 but your minimum weight increases to 1580kg and max rpm drops to 7500rpm. Until John Bowe set a new Bathurst lap record recently in Mustang Sally, a HQ held the Touring car Masters lap record at Bathurst.

You can also run an XA Falcon with a 302W at the same weight, rpm and tyres as the HQ and the LH/LX.

Haha yeah sorry I did watch a tiny bit of that, but I meant overall results from the whole weekend. Apparently the Torana was perfectly suited to Winton, hence the great results on debut. Darwin was much more of a real test.

Bowe vs Johnson in the NT, the old 308 goes alright down the straight,Bowe is super smooth compared to SJ.

Everytime it comes back I'm expecting a new paint job but no I have to keep looking at a mustang, A Torana would look good for a change.

I love watching that thing race.

I saw it today in the Garage with the bonnet up and it had the coolest looking intake arrangement below the bonnet scoop.

should have got a photo.

That's it. How cool does that look.

Can I ask anyone what is it doing?

It seems to sit down against the radiator?

Cold Air intake. Looks like they are making good use of the high air pressure build up you get in from of the radiator. Air gets pushed up into the air cleaner area before it goes thru the radiator so its nice n cold.

Bowe did a 2min 18.8 best lap at Bathurst, just short of the new lap record by Junior Johnson.
