Cable-X is the simplest option.
$495 from CRS.

Around USD $340 plus shipping in the USA.

The weak Australian dollar makes the CRS price reasonable.

Thanks guys

The Cable X is connected to the factory speed sensor (I think this is correct) but will the factory speed sensor still be plugged into the factory loom so that if I decide to use the Commodore cruise control i think the PCM would need the speed sensor data.
Thanks

The transmission speed sensor is connected to the ECU speed input. The Cable X is connected to the ECU speed output which is normally connected to an electronic speedo.

You may have trouble with that Bart? LS engined Commodores also take a speed sensor input from the ABS sensor on each wheel, this is not only used for ABS and traction control but appears to affect the speedo as well.
There are many reports of people changing diff ratios in their late-model Commodores and the speedo still reads correct, without changing speedo gears or reprogramming the ECU.
It seems the VSS on the trans feeds the ECU, but that's not what's used to signal the cluster, however I've also read that if there's too much difference between the two systems (like a really low geared diff) it will throw a CEL & fault code, so the VSS must also be used in the equation somehow?

Ok, i got the whole commodore so it may be possible to pull the bits thats needed. But this will be later if i do this

Which ECU do you have?

Are all the engine and box sensors plugged in?
What PCM do you have? Who removed the VATS from it?

Nah, you've got a lot of problems here. lol
Is the VSS plugged into the box?
Never trust these blokes to screw with your PCM.
They totally #@$^%& mine (also VY). My thing ran like shit, no balls, missing when cruising etc...
Took it to a real tuner and they put it on the dyno and mapped it properly. No spanners or parts required and 223 rwkw.
I sold the factory loom and bought a hotrod conversion loom from PSI conversions in the states.
