Hey guys im about to order my Convo Pro rims today. My question is: What is the best sized rim for the front of a flared lx (guards have been cut out). I will run 225x50x15 front tyres.

I would love an 8' rim, but what backspacing is needed?

I know there is a 15x7 with 3 3/8 backspace, but i want to know if i can safely go a wider rim & what backspacing is needed???

P.s I will be running 15x10' rear with 5' backspace & 265x50x15 tyres

4.5 inch backspace will work best!

With what sized rim are you saying to use 4.5'' backspace with? So 4.5'' backspace on the front rims? Why do you recommend this Redslur? Thanks

Thanks. Is a 3 3/8 backspace correct for 15x7's on the front?

Yeah mate, started a thread the other day! Just bought a very expensive flare kit as the old kit requires some work, ordered my Convo pro wheels today, also have tyres on there way.

Going into rare spares tomorrow to grab a bunch of bit. Im just trying to figure out which panelshop im going to let do the paintjob!

Link below to pics etc!

225/50 looks much better on a 7" rim Imo, bit to stretched on an 8.

My experience is 4.5 inch backspace on an 8 inch front rim and 5 inch backspace on a 10 inch rim.  That is with standard front and rear set ups.  What I had on my flared 5000 many moons ago. A 4.5 will also work on a seven in rim, they just don't fill the guards as well as an 8 inch rim. Can't comment on 3 3/8 as I have never used that offset.

Thanks for the input guys. I ended up just pulling the trigger on a 7'' front rim with 3 3/8 backspace so it should have nice dish and fill the guard out the same as an 8' rim

Post pics when they're fitted, I'm looking to do the exact same on mine (currently running cheese-cutters!)

Nice car to start with buddy... Keen to see the pics when rims are fitted, I'm wanting the same size and offset but not convo's.

Have fun
