The HA and HB Viva was sold in Canada, both by Pontiac/Buick dealers as a Vauxhall and by Chevrolet/Oldsmobile dealers as an Envoy Epic.

Do some Googling and Ebaying - you'll find parts in North America. I saw some sales brochures on Ebay for the Envoy. There is even an Envoy parts catalogue on Ebay that will tell you if the part numbers are the same as the Aussie stuff listed for LHD Torana.

Hmmm sounds like an adventure to europe is on the cards

I remember seeing lots of Opel Gemini's on the roads; not sure what they called them; in Croatia back in 2002. Plenty of Opel VB Commodores too, with Opel grilles.

The poorer countries don't recycle cars as quickly as we do but it'd still be needle in a haystack trying to find a good part I'd say. There's bound to be US or Euro cars with similar track width that you could retrofit their steering rack; probably even score power steering too; if you wanted that luxury.

Taken yels advice onboard and did some googling.asked a few wrecking yards at first and no go there, sooo kept searching

and found a forum over there where there is a few guys with vivas in the build.saw a pic of the bay in one thread with the donk

out and could see rack is practically the same but with short  steering rod. so gave him a pm as he has a spare kframe i saw

leaning up agaist wall with the rack still attached  :)

iI wouldnt get anywhere if i didnt ask for you guys help  :).i have taken all comments on board and the two easiest ways would

be what Craig and yourself mentioned.making up brackets and turning it 30 dd deg, then take the short rod out and replace it

with the 6cyl steering rod.

i will do that if i cant get the lhd  rack.

yeah i know ..so why dont i just do it and stop being lazy. slack is the word

Another thing you have to consider is re-engineering your wipers to wipe the windscreen the other way.

.i never thought of that one stephen. there is a heap of things to change especially if you was putting a holden 6 in there.

All the wiring has to be reversed.loom to the tails light would be ok just unplugging and swapping it around to run up drivers side .

speedo cable is another that would have to be extended...

your right best thing to do would be go over....i did contact Geoff (post troy put up) who is in phillipines ...was hoping for him to

comment .he did mention guys on another forum said seen  heaps of these around  Davao 3 hrs drive from where he is situated.

that was 15 yr ago though.

id gather if you found quite a few would want to bring them back.a stocko lhd would be cool.

You're right best thing to do would be go over

The best thing would be to bring back a whole car over; with our import laws you can bring in a LHD car over 30 years old and leave it LHD. If it's stock all you need is a blue slip; no requirement for an engineer.

im better off getting one from Indonesia, phillipines as would only just have to change brackets L to R.

It also appears it bolt up flat and not on an angle as the torries.but is hard to tell going by that squareish bit which is

apart of the rack .sorry about the pic .i can t do linkys

I have a Mustang LHD and it's pretty cool; there's a couple of hitches; if you want to overtake a large vehicle you have to double & triple check, better safe than sorry and when you're on a Y section of road and have to turn left into the bottom of the Y so to speak; the passenger (right) rear pillar presents a blind spot.

Thats not so much of a problem if you have the HP

With the Cadillac I just drop back a little... get a good look around and stomp it

Makes short work of passing maneuvers

If you're wedged in tight with a car behind that you can't drop back, with a semi in front; it's a bit tricky

That's what brake pedals are for.

Not that I imagine a pustang could ever muster up the ability to pass much....lol

They can; it's a matter of whether they want to or prefer to tailgate you when you do.

Hey Maz,

Seen your replies in Indonesia,

and had a scout, with no luck around this forum - http://www.livinginthephilippines.com/

Seems, the place only imports 2 litre cars or less now-a-days.

Some good news :) .the other fella has responded (Peter) and he is in Toronto Canada and does have a spare rack for me "but"

he has abit of a dilemma.hasnt assembled his rack into his 69 viva GT as yet and is unsure if he needs the other.but does know where 3 others are 100 miles away but luckily  his brother is very near to the scrapyard where they reside.

Winter has started ,while there is no snow as yet, arnt keen to get out in the bitterly cold weather haha.i dont blame them one bit..soo he said if im prepared to wait awhile he will help me out  :)

Also gave me another forum to check just a little bit closer to home 'Europe' i will ask them first about the 4cyl lj with 6cyl front but i

wouldnt have a clue what they would be called there...any ideas guys
