yep, all tags......and engine not original .

Orig. engine seals the deal, but without it, still pretty close 40 years later.

Hi all.
Ive been following this... Question is. What would my car be worth? We all know the work that was done with resleeved original engine. G90 head. Etc etc. Winners interior. But no body id or vin. But vin is known. Adelaide built and body number is very very close to being known.... On vin sheets with engine number. It will be for sale after Nov. Dont want to sell. Wasnt built to be sold... But life has twists and turns.

As XU1's cop an inspection everywhere they go , I'd go for the three tags .

HT 8110 that I used to own had all 3 tags....

in reference to JN97, if I had the cash I'd buy it in a heartbeat, probably should be in the order of NZ$70k or so.

Which would you prefer, all other things being equal.....

A car with all 3 tags and non original engine.

OR

A car with 2 tags (let's assume for discussion purposes the ADR tag is missing) and original engine,

??

Personally, I would prefer the former....

G'Day Adam,

As long as the information say's it is an XU1.  :spoton:

In my opinion it might as well be a QL block if it's not the original engine...

I would rather a car with 2 tags and original JP block. But being a Kiwi that's just obvious. ADR tags don't mean shit over here.

HT8110? yes, I've a lot of photos taken before I sold her, the carjam numbers are correct.

Looking back now at info I got from others after I sold, there was probably a frontal crash at some time & the K-frame swapped out as there were no "extra" drilled holes for the top suspension mod, and the front discs/calipers certainly weren't original either (I had to get the calipers spaced to fit proper thickness discs) The owner after me spent a lot of time & money doing a resto and had her up on trademe for NZ$100k

If I'd had time this weekend I'd have liked to have a look at JN97 but sadly it's not going to happen.

So if you had the choice of a QL Block or a JP Bathurst Block,  you would pick the QL ??? ...........   I doubt it .. :blink2:

I agree with Skap Ian, for the $ people pay for JP blocks, you'd save the cash and use any other 202 unless the JP was original to your car.

I'm with you Ian , I just put a CK in my three tag non original motor LC XUI , makes it no more original , but with the money people spend on there cars , what's an extra couple of grand . Putting a Non XU1 motor in , to me would be like putting an S front guard on an XU1 because the original one was gone .

Yes ian, I would sell the JP and build a nice motor with the cash...

Tbm, a couple of grand difference? Bi think not, a CK block is worth a lot more..,.

I value all you opinions, but of cause I agree with TBM ....   Have a look at the $ value of any LJ XU-1 with a Non JP Block in it, there not worth a lot, because any potential buyer will always point out the fact that it does not have the one thing that makes them an XU-1, and thats a JP Block...    IMHO

What a stupid comment.

If a JP block is the one thing that makes an XU-1 what it is, then putting a JP block in a vk commy makes it an XU-1?

They can say what they like Ian I know what you mean ,  the lack of an XU1 engine is why LJ GTR's , are less sort after  , and $20K cheaper than the XU1 .

Hi mate, the numbers certainly align... Looks a reasonable buy I reckon, but getting if painted the correct colour may cost a bit...
