They can say what they like Ian I know what you mean , the lack of an XU1 engine is why LJ GTR's , are less sort after , and $20K cheaper than the XU1 .

If a JP block is the one thing that makes an XU-1 what it is, then putting a JP block in a vk commy makes it an XU-1?
Add to that a JP block is no different to a QL block anyway. Both pumped out of the same mold and material

A GTR is cheaper because they weren't built to race bathurst and didn't win bathurst. That is what gives alot of these older cars their bigger $ value - racing heritage.

Hi mate, the numbers certainly align... Looks a reasonable buy I reckon, but getting if painted the correct colour may cost a bit...

As I said, I welcome you opinions.... your welcome to buy an XU-1 with a QL, or a stove hot HQ Taxi motor.... I don't care... But if a JP Block isn't what you want in a LJ GTR XU-1, then put in what ever blows your dress up...... but please don't pretend that you and bomber set the criteria for what people want in a Torana XU-1...... because if you pay top dollar for an XU-1 without a JP block your an idiot ........

OK, fair call ....... but I ask you this... what do LJ XU-1's come from the factory with.... it is a JP..... Now i agree, the original JP is what you want. But the second best option surely is another JP motor, then maybe QL, then maybe something out of a HQ taxi, then a Agitator motor ... that's all I'm saying.... can't understand how you see it any different ???

I'd have all 3 tags and an NP engine if I can't have the original JP engine. 2nd choice would be another JP engine.

Work it out for yoursef DH ............ How about you read this slowly , and try and keep up.... some motors were replaced long after warranty.... so why seek out some QL or NP engine out of god only knows what ..... Buy what you want... I could care less............ but only a frOckwit (Enter Bomber} would want an LJ XU-1 without a JP block... just buy a Torana S and do what you want, but an XU-1 is worth a lot less with anything but a JP in it ......
