Don't know mate. I don't think the awards happen until after the driving events today.

Hi
i went as well, after being bustled around in the eumundi markets, lots of open space was quite enjoyable, but i am with you Skap, a tad disappointing, not at all from the competitors or quality, but just that so many other cars that could have been interesting were just not included..... heck if they said free parking on one side of the oval for anyone in a pre 80s holden, there were many other great cars.
Again just to point out , the competition and show cars were remarkable, and many thanks for all those people allowing people to come and gawk.. I liked the above GTR and the two four door support vehicles , the LJ Xss were incredible, but was a bit perplexed why relatively fewer LCs. I gave a best of luck to some concourse judges as they were going around., wouldn't be a job i would envy. I would have to say have been spoiled for eye candy recently, as at the Phillip Island Festival of speed, over a dozen XU1s and their brethren were in full glory. 4 orange LR cars in a row in the car park was amusing. Thanks again guys and gals for letting me drool (sorry about that) Darryl

i enjoyed it, liked the space around cars, didn't have to wait for half the fr0cken day to get a pic. Pics don't seem to show the impact that Herringbone trim has. I also have a couple of pics. Now those LC race cars are they tributes or is one that had the bonnet shut the real one? I didn't think so many real ones would turn up. That Houndstooth trim is starting to want to be on the seats in my LC.

Atleast with the car's spread out you can get some decent photos of one car without others crammed in next to it. I find this a problem a most other events, that and there's always someone in the way ruining the photo.
The other problem with taking the photos is that everyone always has there bonnet open. I understand that they want to show off their engine bay but sometimes it's good to see the bonnet shut and see the car like that. By now we all know how an xu-1 engine bay looks. Oddly enough having the bonnet open would probably show more faults on this type of car than anything else.
I'm not saying that these aren't great cars, their a credit to their owners and the people who have worked on them.
Sorry if it sounds like I'm whining, it's not how it's intended to sound.
Thanks for sharing your photos Dave.

I really thought there would have been a lot more cars considering it was the Nationals.

I believe we were introduced (and shook hands?) Dave this is Dave.
I kick myself cause I should have recognised you from the pic of your dad sitting in his XU1 (assuming you resemble your father).
Cheers
Dave.

Nothing important just a couple of pictures of the car and the id tag , Facebook is safer than it used to be .

Lol yep and all of dad's old mates reckon i look exactly like him. Which i reckon is a bit unfair as dad had his face rearranged by an FJ Holden's A pillar while riding his motorbike in 1958.. Bugger.

Ouch, that must have hurt. I imagine the accident would have put him out of action for a while.
