Huh?
That surprised me too. Most manufacturers are turning down the torque outputs of engines on manual versions as the clutches can't handle it.

I don't believe that you were right.
That HQ coupe has front guard flutes, so is more than likely a GTS, or even a GTS 350.
When Byron says Monaro, he is referring to a base Monaro, not a GTS.

It will only be available with a manual gearbox because the engine has too much power for the type of gay daisy chain that prefers an automatic or simply cannot drive a stick shift.

I read yesterday that only 40% of Victorian 18 year olds even have a licence!
From the SV5000 on, HSV have claimed that it is the manual that couldn't handle the big torque motors. I hope the mention of gearboxes in the above article isn't a typo. It would be an insult to the Aussie public for it to be auto only.
