It could be just me ? which wouldn't surprise me one bit, but how many more "features" do we need , we can post links/ pictures and do other stuff , can't even use most of what is there but it seems to work.

There was another Forum that switched to this software a little over 12 or so months or so ago and has changed again based upon

a similar format although it has been upgraded to a newer version to the tune of something like $70k P/A.

As far as the boys in blue go , sure some things get nodded in or out but then again we should not bitch too much about what gets

got away with , and besides that , try running a site out of our own pocket and keeping things tidy in our own  spare time when we get home and spend some spare time reading between lines , sort of like owing a farm but working in the City and coming home to the farm

after working in the City all day to do farm work ?...who would want to do that ?

Does the KISS principle still work in this world or what ?

 thank you EunUCh.

I think some get way too wrapped up in the shit....

I want to take it from the start, get the place reliable, functional and sustainable... because to date it's barely been any of those!

The rest - we will see what can be done.

All the rest is piss and wind.

The search facility doesn't seem to work for me. I just typed in L34 and it came up with no results.

Don't distress Laurie. The forum search function couldn't find a prostitute in a brothel either.

Google can't find threads in the members only sections of the Forum.

Ive never had much luck with the forum search. Occasionally works, most often not.

Dave-PWR seems to still find old stuff some how

Very true

Since 'googlebot' isn't a member

Maybe we need a forum librarian

Yep Dave is right, Members section is hidden from Google,

but we can still find snippets of the same subject in other sections of this great Forum.

In-fact, this Forum takes up 50% of Google searches for information on the Torana Subject :)

If we keep posting up great subject matter, we will own Google :)

I wouldnt mind paying some coin for the good of the forum.

I have offered previously.

I dont care if I pay it straight to Tiny or any other in the moderation team.

With what Tiny has done so far I am sure I can trust that the funds would be spent appropriately.

As for changes though, it works well the way it is.

The moderators do a pretty good job for the most part.

Cant see a need for a premium members section though.

That would possibly create an elitist culture and there are already those here who think they are the elite of the elite.

If it was tightened up too much it would lose its appeal.

I have been on, and still on a few different forums.

This one is the only one that has any real activity.

The others are pretty much dead. Only worthy of a weekly or monthly visit, where here I visit almost every day.

Sure there are a few members who contributed a lot who have dropped out.

But their legacy does remain.

It is entertaining here getting involved in a bit of off topic discussion or reading it.

Gives the place some personality.

A sponsors section such as LS1 is probably not a good idea.

I am aware of some litigation between sponsors that happened and things got really nasty.

Thank you Greg, I appreciate your words mate, and I'm sure the rest of the team do too.

Your concerns exactly mirror mine, which is why I have not undertaken any moves until now, and we are still considering the best path forward because no matter what happens it will change the dynamic of the forum.

What I never wanted was to take money from members and remain with a forum software that had bugs, non functional and unsafe systems.....

And as you said there is no way I will allow direct sponsorship by businesses for the reasons you said.

Cheers again mate, and thanks again for helping me out recently with the indicator parts for my HQ!

Its not just sponsors

There's a current issue with a member threatening legal action against us (the forum and admin) because of what another member is saying about him

Since we allegedly offer the sounding board for his attacks (including PM's) this guy thinks we are liable and responsible for his defamation of character

So play nice kiddies.
