Cheers Rob :)

Weeell... All Torana Day isn't looking good, I found out yesterday that I won't have a job after october 31... Looks like I'll have to do some budgeting, especially because I bought a house on Monday...

That doesn't sound good Tim. :-(
Good luck with getting a new job and Congratulations on buying a house, could be tough times ahead. Even with a job having a house pulls the purse strings pretty tight.
Next is Marriage and kids then the car is sold then 20 years from now you'll want it back.

I would guess this is a common story.

Torana isn't getting sold, ever. No massive plans to get married, but I'm gunna be a father at some point between now and 2013 :spoton:

House is only costing $14/week more than the average rent around here...

By 'I won't have a job', I mean 'I won't have a job where I am at the moment'. I'm too young, fit and intelligent to be unemployed...

I wouldn't've got "DON'T PANIC" tattooed on my back in large friendly letters if I was going to let something like this worry me :)

Good attitude Tim, a mark of a person is how they handle adversity. been there, done that and with a good attitude people will hire you, even if it's not your ideal job. ps car look good well done to get to the end.

Cheers Grant, but as you probably know, there never really is an 'end' with these things! I've still got the suspension to rebuild, and new motor and gearbox to put in yet...

Your parents should be proud of you Tim, there's not many young'ens around these day with that sort of attitude and it's good to hear, most just want to sit around and play video games.

I wish you luck in find a job quickly, it way not be your ideal job at first but with your attitude you will find and get it in no time.

Car is looking great by the way.

Don't get me wrong, i'd love to sit around and play video games and build cars, but that doesn't pay the bills haha

I'm lucky in that I can always go and work with dad on the oyster farm, but I'll probably do a bit of work on farms driving tractors over harvest...

congrats on the house and the kid Tim, that will change your life but I reckon it's better to do it when you are younger, just makes life a little harder at first
worth it though
always work around for some one with your attitude, just take what's there and work, people respect that
if I can help with all Torana day let me know, your car would be an example for youth determination.

If I can get my suspension rebuilt and this 202 and 5 speed in before November, I reckon I'll be there...

You know how to spend money nowadays Timbo.

Got a rear bar?

Make sure you clean, black & KBS chassis paint all those suspension bits!

General consensus is that rear swaybars on LC/J's are no good, from what I've read...

I'll be giving the diff and front end up a touch up while they're out :D

I find that difficult to believe. For control at 10/10ths you might be better without, but for a nice feeling setup for a street car, having a stiff rear bar is awesome. Neutral oversteer etc

Heath they lift the inside rear wheel too easily with a rear sway bar, this does not make for a fun street car, especially with no proper LSD / locker

Rear sway bar on Lc/LJ is terrible IMHO, even for a track car (so I found out)makes them way to prone to picking up the rear (as per the above)and lost a shitload of grip

See, just doing what I'm told, Heath! haha

I pulled the front ends out of my spare shells yesterday, I think I'm gunna have to do a bit of mixing and matching to get a good setup. Gunna strip them down tomorrow arvo and see what I'm dealing with.

Okay. I really enjoyed the high roll stiffness that I had in the back of the green car, maybe the LC/LJs don't like it quite as much. I definitely agree with Pete's comment about needing a good LSD to deal with the unloading of that wheel on hard turn-in.

Well... Started stripping down a spare front end today, until I noticed that the engine mounts have been butchered... Back out the farm tomorrow to grab my other spare one! Lucky I've got 2 parts cars haha

Cheers for the tip Ken...

The farm is definitely handy! Especially because people have been leaving cars out there for nearly 50 years...
