Might sound silly and you probably already on to it. Make sure you get the longer bolts for your fly wheel. They are about 5mm longer. I myself are doing a conversion now and it looked like they were going to be a surprisingly difficult thing to find, luckily the place that built my trans for me were nice enough to give me some off a motor they had out the back.

Im pulling the manual out and changing to auto
Too hard and scary to drive.
Plus autos are faster.

I snapped 2 clutch cables the first day my car was driven (yesterday)

Maybe hydro is the best way to go, if you have $$ rare spares sell kits for a whopping $450:huh:

depends how heavy duty the presure plate is i guess. mines not even that heavy haha

Anyone know? if i can run hydro on a cable bellhousing?

cheers,
nathan

^ you can if you are running a milti fit bell housing or modify yours.
first check that the cable is running true as side loads of any sort put very high stresses on it causing an early death.
another alternative is have a heavy duty cable made up.

I have a 308 turbo pattern, i assume the orginal bellhousing on my M21 wont fit?
with a CRS bellhousing to suit, can u run the rat trap setup till i get the hydro .
I should just ask CRS, however. i have a CRS trans crossmember, ican it be used to fit M21 into LH with 308?

Cheers

My tailshaft is brand new almost and made to suit LH+308+TH350and Banjo, the M21 will be shorter needing a new tailshaft yeah?

After thinking about it, i run 3.55 rear end and if ur telling me the M21 is a bit sluggish in first, this diff ratio should take care of that.
I have a tricked up TH350 with stall, but it just doesnt feel like it utilizes the 308 power like a manual could.

If i can get this to work , my auto, stall and pro ratchet shifter is for sale

Sorr guys, gremlins wouldnt let me edit my post, had to create again
Cheers

IMHO you are mad for tossing a TH350 for an AUSSIE 4 SP.
id be getting the TH350 sorted. they came factory with them, there must have been some thought to their suitability.
i had a TH400 shift kitted with small stally behind a stock 308 and 1st to 2nd flat out was a lane change experience. could not keep a standard diff in it.
even crusing was a churp for EVERY gear change.
the best auto i EVER had.

Yeah i know where your coming from about the TH350 and 400's
50% of my driving is city side, when i built the car i wanted to go manual but got the trans for a great price.
Dont get me wrong, it goes real hard and pulls like a train, i wanna see how the power response is with a manual.

If i dont like it, i can always swap back to the trans.

Cheers
