nose cone still has all the bolts holding her in, i only have two small holes cut out of the bottom to lower the cooler and locate it. it also has two L brackets from the radiator to the top of the cooler to support the top. the bar that runs vertical from the safety catch to the nose cone supportr is the only thing deleted.

hey all
i have been playing around will plumber her up im now using stock 185i factory extractors reversed. i was going to use a cast manifold on the drivers side like jakes torana but know using the vr extractor on both sides. im using a vn engine mount and moving the the mount back a bit. i also going to run the dump pipe down the front of the engine and under the sub frame. the passenger side hads had the flange cut off so i can mod the pipes. you also have to space the alt out and get a triple crank pulley. we had to heat up the heater box and massage so it would fit, it looks a bit crappy at the moment but with a bit of filler will look sweet.

You will need an ANDRA license and a tech inspection to run 10's anywhere (except maybe Heathcote).

spot on, You dont need anything at Heathcote, although I think they prefer that the faster cars are ANDRA tech inspected

long time no post. i have finally finished my apprenticeship and can now get some reasonable cash. anyway i have changed my mine on engine combo, im going with a 355 i just got my crank and rods (eagle crank and scat h beam rods). i also am getting a nice alloy fuel cell and all fittings off a mates car (purple HR blow-thur single turbo 400 chev). i have finished my turbo manifold and cross over pipe, just waiting to get some cash to hpc coat them. i will put some pics up later .

Ps i think this one is for struggler, im looking for a spot to connect my parachute. i was thinking i would to mount it to the tow bar without the input part? thanks

That will work fine.

Is that normal exhaust tube you are using to plumb that turbo?

The headers are stainless and the cross over pipe is mild steel for the moment. what did you use?

looking good stock :spoton:
How much did the "eagle crank and scat h beam rods" set you back oh the blower pistons too.
Looking at going down a similar path to you, so got a keen eye on you!
What block are you using???
Where did you get your Gt42 from, and its specs? A.r etc
These are obviously a good match for a 308/355??

the rods and crank cost about $1000. i had to sell my old pistons off because the comp height was too tall. im going to get a set of jps pretty cheap so all is good. i just picked up a brand new virgin vs block. i picked up the 42 on ebay. it has a .72 cold side and a 1.01 hot side. im getting my chute and a set of gauges next week. i dont have much left to get, thank Christ.

one thing i will say about the previous turbo kit is that it should have a flex joint on the crossover pipe.

im doing a 355 t51r single turbo kit for a customer atm.

I got mine at Blackwoods but I have since found it cheaper at almost any metal merchant. It used to be sold under the name of Red Roo and mandrel bends are available and cheap.

yeah you have to shorten the safety catch a bit. i can just get my fingers in to unlatch it. that is with a 600*300*100 cooler. you also have to sand down some of the back out of the grill and recess it into the nosecone. hope this helps
