Hi Guys,

Well to say I am stoked is an understatement!

After about 18 serious months of motivation I have driven my LH for the first time in almost 13 years!

I have built everything in my shed aside from the trans and the exhaust.

SCAT 355 stroker

VN Heads

Crane 284

Harrop Dual Plane

650DP

Full manual TH350 3500 Dominator Stall

28 spline 9 inch, 3.5: Detroit Locker

Twin 2.5" Exhaust

Just need to put a few K's on it now before I get it tuned properly.

Cannot wait to start enjoying my car again, and kick myself for leaving it so bloody long!

Cheers,

Dave

There's a name we haven't seen for a while! Good to see you're back on the horse mate. I know how it feels to go this long between drives!

Finally did something about the interior. Couldn't find the original 64V printed vinyl for the inserts, so went with Samoan Tan from a HR.

Stoked with how it came out, and great to not be driving with shitty seat covers.

Cheers,

Dave

So I decided to have a go at re covering the dash pad. Thought it would look good in Samoan Tan to match the inserts on the seats. Got a quote from D.O. and they wanted $1200!
A bit of bog and sanding, heat gun and glue and I reckon it came up great! Saved probably $900 as I got another dash and had to get a bit more vinyl.
Best bit is if it doesn't last, I will only do better next time!
Cheers

Very nice. Did you get any photos of the process? How bad was it beforehand?

Thats the one thing I didnt do, I was too focused on not stuffing it up!

It had a few cracks and had shrunk along the back edge. Pulled the cracks apart and bogged them up, and then sanded off the high spots.

This video gave a few pointers - the pad is obviously a lit simpler overall, but getting the vinyl to sit flush around the corners was a bit fiddly.

Finally decided on a new set of wheels.
15x7 and 15x8 GTS Sprints.
I was worried the 8s may have been tighter than they are, but happy with the advice I got from Purnell Tyres.94c432e5fed7419a37d72048ce037149.jpg

Looks good. Wasn't really loving the 90's look wheels. Were the old ones from R.O.H. or something?

Yeah, ROH Venturo. I bought them years ago, but didn't suit the 70s theme.
I'll take you off the list of people who want to buy them lol.
