Dear Torana friends,

Has someone a Banjo rear end with 28 spline axles and Harrop truetrack ?

How does it work ?

How much load can it take ?

Hi mate,
I have had that setup in a LJ Torana track car.
Good diff, no noise, no clutches. Works like a really good LSD. Very good, UNLESS you start lifting rear whels/ curb hopping. One a wheel is in the air, it turns into a single drive and you loose momentum.
I ended up selling the Tru Track and axles and purchased a Detroit Locker for Banjo and axles (25spline).
Have run that setup with 3.55, 3.36, 3.08 ratios and very good.

Tru Track -
Pros- quiet and smooth, no clutches
Cons-lift a wheel and you loose drive

Detroit Locker -
Pros- once locked, its locked, no loss of drive
Cons-clunky, noisey. Can introduce some understeer in slower corners is going hard as both rear wheels turning at same speed.
Not really suited to road cars.

just my experience,hope it helps

I see there is also an Ebay shop offering their own versions. SCW I think was their name. Has anyone used their products?

The SCW ones get a mention here , James is the guys name he does axles as well

I assume they are Harrop centres even though it’s not mentioned in the eBay add anywhere as he has a picture of the Harrop truetrac box

James does his own centres, they're not Harrops.
I run one of his centres and his axles. I haven't started giving it a hard time yet as still breaking it in so can't really comment as such as to it's full potential but so far so good.
Had to wait for ever for them tho and got the run around pretty bad.

Just another comment from my experiences...
These billet type axles and fancy centres all all pretty good. The archillies heel then becomes the crown wheel and pinion ( your old ones you fitted the the fance centre)...they are quiet a consumable item and you need a ready supply in the ratio of your choice.
Additionally, unless your rear axle tube is well baffled, in circuit work..you will trash them repeatedly.

So if they aren’t Harrop truetracs who else makes them ? The box in the eBay picture looks like a Harrop one
