Yaaaaay !! Im not the only forum member with Woodridge 2 pak on the front end :spoton:

Good luck with fixing up the bits and pieces mate.

Chris - Heaths car doesnt look dissimilar to my UC at the moment so I think I win the Ugliest Car in history by virtue of the fact that mine is actually an ugly car (UC). Paint you front end in primer and you may be able to challenge me to the title. :P

Do u have a matching woodridge spec motor with blue painted block and red painted heads

Looks good :D

The plates were $295, and they were $195 for the same kinda thing until recently.

Damnit I didn't get the column back in and I have to go to TAFE now. New soft coupling and universal joint all ready to be jammed in. Column is masked up and painted. My new ignition barrel is ready to be popped in too, then I can just bolt everything up and see if I've eliminated the problem.

How tight do I do the nuts on the cotter pins? I want it to be safe, but not too hard to remove in the future.

Hay Heath make sure you do em up tight. When i put my steering back in I found that I had about two inches of play in my steering wheel. I then tightened the pins and it disappeared. If you need welding done on your exhaust give STEDFAST AUTOMOTIVE a call on 9830 4420 ask for Rob and let him know I sent you. He's in Surrey Hills on Riversdale rd opposite Through road. Good bloke and Knows his s@#t. If ya need a hand let me know.

Thanks Anthony, but I already had a few other recommendations and I've got the rana booked into Clayton after all. Apparantly this guy is awesome and I guess it's just an excuse to take the car for a longer drive.

God I love forums, I only got that f*cking stupid quote yesterday and within a day, I have had five recommendations for quality exhaust work at different shops. Next time I will ask in advance!

Yeah Heath, the forums are great to find things like that out! I found a good joint to get my EB's diff rebuilt by asking over on fordmods.com - and i've found a few places to get parts for my mighty boy from the tamon.org forums as well.

If you were over in the western subs i'd suggest taking your 'rana to Blitz Custom Exhaust over in Hoppers Crossing. They hooked me up with a set of extractors, a 2.5" pipe & a 2.5" straight thru muffler for my EB, and man it sounded great. I did end up having to also have a 2.5" high flow resonator fit to quieten the beast down a bit, make it a tad more legal, but all that work inc the 2nd hand extractors only set me back $500.

I'm getting them to do the exhaust on my torry when the time comes. 3" dump pipe off the turbo, 2" screamer, and unsure yet of the size under the car, depends on what i can get over the diff. All done in sexy stainless. They have done a number of car's that have featured in Street Machine & other car mags.

Cheers

ToranaGuy

Been a few days... column is back in and is working beautifully thanks to rodomo genius of using a hammer to aid with the installation of my ignition barrel which would not go in otherwise. Nice one overpriced eBay crap

Well today I wanted to do my front brakes, so I went and got wheel bearings, pads, grease, brake fluid etc

Pulled everything apart and didn't have much luck :(

Rubber boots on the caliper sliders are all missing so the sliders are very... hesitant... to do their job
Pistons were almost seized, the bloody thing needed to be clamped so hard before it would move anywhere. The pads were absolutely cactus. Falling apart and almost metal on metal haha

Because of the above problem, pass. side disc was stuffed, needs machining at least. A pair of new discs went on

Brake fluid was black in most spots, but white near each wheel haha felt a few funny inconsistencies through the pedal when different objects were blown out of the calipers hahahahaha

Found that the steering arm was lose on the driver's side, so now my front end 'clunk' sound has been eliminated, sweet! The rack seems okay now lol

So yeah now I have new pads on calipers that are essentially in need of a rebuild I believe, oversized discs, new wheel bearings, new brake fluid, and a properly working steering system (as far as I know lol)

Should be going for an exhaust tomorrow

Thanks Brett, nice to see you around here :)

I can actually close the boot now that I've hooked up the release, woooo car security at last
I've done some more electrical work, but a lot of my interior has come out so I've gotta put that back together again.

Picking up parts with absolutely no use of a car sucks :P I've been calling a few favours hehe
Basically I need a few clips and one headlight and then I might try for a RWC

The headlight itself. Got a replacement but it doesn't have the hole in the silver backing for the parker (a mate picked it up, bloody no transport!)

I would lol it's on the inside of the back, not the outside

Thanks Brian, too bad some of the chrome plating was taken off by the adhesive on the masking tape! I owe ya one

Rear door rubbers are now installed; had to buy some new (rip off) from Rares.

^ clips sorry not whole new rubbers

Now I can press a button and my bootlid goes *pop* and is open. My car thinks it's a new car 'nawwwwww how cute

Anyone got a roadworthy joint in mind that will be relaxed about front suspension bushes? Rear is fine and the steering department is spot on, there are just a few things in the front end that are cracked etc.
