Hi you would not get a set for 4k today, to many xu1 owners are chasing nibbless rims, good luck if you can find them,

Agree. But if you had a totally original car with original engine and wanted to complete it, I can understand the reasoning. You'd be mad to spend that on wheels though if the car wasn't otherwise original. I wonder what a set with the original tyres is worth? A friend had a set from when he bought his LJ XU1 new. Pulled them off the day it came home and stored them in the shed under cover. I think he sold them to another friend in the 90's for $250 that went onto an original 1972 XU1.

There is someone on one of the FB sites selling a nos set of the red band tyres off HK Monaro atm. Don't recall the $.

Are they off a GTS or GTS327? The GTS327 had special D70H14 locally made tyres that would be worth a bit to an anal restorer. But the better way on these is to use an ‘optional’ tyre which was Michelin XAS 185x14 and these are available as vintage tyre today, or they were recently.. Unfortunately I don’t think you’d have that luxury on an XU1?
