Gidday all,
Finally got the pics approved by the host and can be found at
05 Memorial

It was good to meet so many forumers, and attend the Memorial at Sandown.

First time I have been to such a memorial and at the end of the day I am glad I went.

Anyway, please enjoy the pics, I don't have time to post process thhem at all, sorry.

Max

PS: Special thanks to Gary and Wraith, they were the only ones who spotted me taking pics and stopped for a pic. Everyone else was on the move. Not that I am complaining.

It was a great day for remembering the king. There were 89 brock cars there. Did any of you guys see a vk group three with 3BROCK number plates. That was my dads car. I was pretty pissed off when the HSV cars went 1st in the parade lap because the were the cars that destroyed brock commodores. Also the guy with the walkinshaw had some nerve that was the car that really destroyed brock. It was nice to have 2 laps around sandown and give the brock a bit of a squirt (well my dad did). If I was 16 I could have brought the GPAK down or bring the white vc manual down (my car also). Moffat, skaife and gibson made very good speeches and so did Phil Brock (splitpin). It was also pretty bad that they had no catering exept 2 ice-cream vans. It was good to see the 3 directors back together also. Peter would have loved the sendoff.

Regards Hicksey

^ interesting, just reading the Rise & Fall of Peter Brock. Dude lent it to me at work to read. Never really understood what happened there.

As per usual, Holden doesn't seem to share our interest in the old cars, they don't seem to believe/think that it helps sell new cars. It was good to see at Bathurst 2004, that Peter believed and knew otherwise.

Macka, your cars got Pole Position in that pic in the news article.

Well done guys, it wouldve been an awesome sight to see so many cars that have been influenced by one man at te same time...

Just got back home from Melbourne last night....Great drive down the Hume, and back again (apart from nearly being blown off the road by the gale force winds from Berrima to Liverpool!)....I think it may take a few months to get all the bugs off the front of the commodore though!
The memorial was a fitting tribute to the man, and was enjoyed by Myself, my Wife & Dad - we found a good spot in the grandstand, right in front of the speakers dais, and then were suprised to see the family, close friends, V8 drivers, and Channel 10 commentators come and sit in the reserved area right next to us! One thing I was quite annoyed to witness though, was people right in the face of the mourning friends & relatives, snapping photo's of them! I thought, and my wife & dad also later commented, that this was really poor taste - hope no forumers were involved in those antics.
Unfortunately I didn't get to meet any of the Forumers again...would have been good to meet some of you Mexicans.... though did spot a few familiar cars in the carpark, LXCHEV being one of the more noticeable (I was parked next to the car with the 'VALE05' number plates - he must have been quick to score those and get them on the car in time!)

Great pics Brett, love the "START ENGINES" sign, Dick asked me to grab a shot of it but I was too slow turning the camera on, lol.

Yeah we thought it was cool too - I was just waiting for the "Gentlemen, start your engines...." over the P.A. hahaha that would have been the icing on the cake!
