If you want 3.45 gears, get a VL diff. 28 spline full spool will set you back $550.

housing and axles should not cost more than between $650 to $900 for the conversion and thats being fair. If you want stud pattern changed you would need to pay more. Most these people that do this use commodore stud pattern to begin with.

sorry i dont know how to edit my reply. why not buy a set of moser axles for it, reason i say this is you will end up twisting the axles if they are just re-splined over time, unless you go the extra step and get them heat treated

why would you need to narrow it when its only 5 mm too long on each end?

PM me. Little bro is making a jig to convert the same for the race wreck, also converting from 2 to 4 pinion for the LH/LX. I can get some prices for you. If you drive the diff to Murwillimbah, train is quite cheap for freight.

I'll ask him on the weekend for you. He also does a few other mods to them to make them suitable for racing, i.e. unbreakable.

LX..There is a VL turbo diff on Ebay and he says it has been shortened 1 inch each side to fit an LH?..See? It gets confusing.

my mistake 660mm is what i cut the long axle down to become the short axle, well i went 660mm on my LX but thats about 5 to 10mm shorter than LX as it saves having to cut only one axle.
again, my bad.
so measure a long axle from a VN and there you have it.

I will measure a VL/VN/LH diff tomorrow...Anyone put a VL diff under an LH with no shortening? Do 15 x 10s clear with flares and guard cutouts?

I've never tried it, but I'm guessing that if the VL diff is only 90mm wider, (45 each side) the different offset on Commodore wheels would almost allow it to fit ???

BUF; bolt up face, where the rotor/wheel sits.

I reckon an R31 skyline Borgwarner would come close to fitting in an LH without shortening. I have one in my LC (and it hasn't been shortened), but I just run front wheel drive offset rims.
They're a dime a dozen at the wreckers too. Pretty much as common as VN - VP's. They come in 3.7 and 3.9:1 diff ratio. But I installed 3.28:1 gears and a minispool in mine.

Obviously they're not commodore stud pattern, but that's easily changed ;-)
