whilst we are going off tangent, i was told that centura diffs were exactly the right width as a hr/hd. that would have to make them bloody close to toranas as well wouldnt it?

I've never tried it, but I'm guessing that if the VL diff is only 90mm wider, (45 each side) the different offset on Commodore wheels would almost allow it to fit ???

Rear track with stock rims.

LH: 1372 MM with 5.5" rims ( +32 )
VL: 1440 MM with 6" rims ( +43 )
VN: 1478 MM with 6" rims ( +43 )

Offsets can be altered easily enough ( widened steel rims ), but you need to watch the rims don't foul on the caliprs and handbrake cables.

Just out of interest, why are you sticking with 28 spline? I would have thought some moser billet 31 spline would be a good idea with the sort of punishment it will be receiving...

Havent checked yet..If the spool and axles are available in 31 I will go that way.

The axles are available, but whether 31 spline BW spools are available is another matter. I myself would be interested if 31 spline BW spools are available, from where and how much.
