Really don't want to take it to a shop to get done as it will cost a fortune! Really want to have a go at doing it but don't have the skills or tools, waiting on a friend of a friend to maybe have a go at it but its been 2 weeks and no word. Thinking maybe the heads need to be machined.....
Prob go Cometic too, which i think are .027" thick versus the Felpro .039" i think i have now. Anyone know what change in compression this might make on std VN heads if i have close to 0 deck height and around the high 9's on compression now???????????? Biut vague i know but will measure everything again when heads are off (deck height and cc heads).
Not loking good for Autobahn show BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah Milco its just sitting in kew atm so you are welcome to come have a look when ever

Got half way through and noticed front drivers side head bolt missing under extractors!!!!!!!!!!!!!! right where the leak was, funny that! Seeing that she was apart already we have sent the heads off to be machined and changing to a set of comtics (even though the felpros were prob ok).
Might take this chance to change to a fresh set of lt1 valve springs (should have done that first time) and fix some suspect valve stem seals aswell. I the know valves are ok, not perfect, but not sure if i should do them too, as it might start costing too much! new seats cut etc.....
Then its back to LPG mob for a proper tune and secondaries that actually open should be nice and fast then, hell she is pritty good now just on the primaries

Head gasket fixed, just gotta put 1000k's on bit before it goes back to the LPG shop for a proper tune and dyno run, can't wait coz atm i cant really rev it out past 3500rpm. Also ended up reco'ing heads while they were off and got some new Lt1 springs in there.
Yeah was great to catch up with the old gang and to meet some new people, oh the MO is for MOVEMBER and not part of my usually apearance
Sorry if i might have seem abit out of it, just got dumped by the girl of my dreams last week so F$%king shattered as it was a huge shock and getting about 3-4 hrs sleep a night :(

Timing changed from 22 to 28 total and 16 static, was running lean so its best i just babyed it around the last few months!!
Power run 204.3rwkW @ 6001rpm and 736Nm@5430rpm.
Drives real good now and scream in the top end with the x pipe
Not a bad daily street setup although currently getting 37ltrs/100km but that is all stop start so might get a bit better with some highway and playing with the economy valves.
So today has been a good day compared to the last few months of feeling like SH%T!!

That economy is pretty bad, thank god it's not premium. I think you will be able to get it a fair bit better than that, but it could be driving style as well because you just got to open it up properly recently.

Blew the sniffer out off the exhaust on the last run lol
Yeah i think the economy will stay bad for some time as i can't keep my boot out of it atm it just sounds so awsome!
Stragely the little 205's grip really well?? i suppost the detroit locker helps a fair bit but as long as i am moving and boot it they seem to grip ok, they are brand new though so that might change as they wear a bit. I never really drop/slip/pop the clutch though, if i did this they would have no chance

Would my combo 355, Vn heads, Reldine single plan intake, Technocarb, 286 crane cam only produce 7-10'hg at idle (900rpm)???????????? gauge says normal idle reange is around 20'???
Or is it just my cam not producing much vacuum?

Now which one is a Torana sleeper, and which is just a Torana that's just wearing a set of white walls? lol!
Tried to sort this out this morning but no luck - need a bigger slide hammer!
Reason it's at mine:
RHS, just cut it out, treated and painted behind, welded in new
LHS, same as the other side
Cut out most of the bad stuff, treated it, painted it, spent AAAAGES making a replacement panel, then spent AAAAGES tacking it in really carefully and slowly. The photo doesn't do it must justice but I really took my time and I think it's a very nice repair. Will upload finished welding pictures tomorrow.
Will still need a decent skim of filler but it will be half as much as the car came with! hahaha shoulda got some more shots beforehand.
Had lots of bog behind the bumper bar irons which had cracked and created what would have become another rust problem, so I just removed all of the bog would be compressed by the iron and i'll clean it up around there, should be fine with a lick of paint, Luke is coming around in the morning to make the job quicker and easier, but I'm not sure what we are doing as far as paint is concerned yet because I don't know if the black around the bottom is actually acrylic or not, so I may have to remove it.
