As you may have read in my engine rebuild thread here i have just finished rebuilding the 202 in the lc, final specs are as follows:

-HQ 202 red block +30 thou
-Blue/Black 202 couterweighted crank
-Starfire rods + ARP rod bolts
-Fully Balenced bottom end
-5cc dish pistons
-9.7:1 compression
-Yella Terra Roller Rockers
-Yella Terra Stage 3 head
-Dynotec stage 2 Cam
-JP Straight cut timing gears +2 degrees cam timing

also just bought a nos ww stromberg which i will be adding to my 186s manifold and fitting to the motor once its run in. also bought a set of pacemaker extractors which will be fitted along with a new xu-1 style 2 1/4" exhaust soon. :D

unfortunatly in not so good news i had my car broken into and two tyres slashed open earlier in the week.

could have been much worse tho they could have stolen it or keyed it or countless other things so getting away with a couple of tyres slashed isnt so bad.

tyre fryer: rebuild cost me $400 in pistons rings gaskets ect and another $1000 odd for the machining/dummy assembling ect

bon_scott: yeah the ww looks like it will do the job nicely, just chasing up a few other little bits and peices to make it a nice quick conversion once ive put 1000 odd km on the new engine so i can change to the ww.

recent pic from the shannons car show in hobart a few weeks back. you can spy the latest addition to the lc in the pics, a bond 1/2 alloy roll cage. i will post up some better pics of the cage soon as it was only half polished at the show.

uni holidays start soon so more time to spend on the lc :spoton:

mate, massive favour.
could you scan in ultra high resolution the 'Torana6' brochure front cover? I've always wanted that pic for a desktop background!

I've been meaning to get some manuals for my glovebox, but they cost a mint these days.

putting this on the lc over the next couple of weeks, its a 34 ADM Weber of an XF falcon, im using the 186S manifold and a redline adapter plate.

also put in a 3.55 LSD in to replace the 2.78 single spinner and added an XU-1 booster a while back to.

smeer: ill scan you the cover of the brochure in the next couple of weeks. :spoton:

I had one of those on my LJ 202 when i first had it running. Thing ran like a dog so i ended up with a WW 2 barrel.

Would have been alright if i put a kit through it and farted about.

Also had an electronic solenoid that was an auto choke i think? i remember something loopy about the thing.

the weber is now all fitted up was a pretty easy conversion, changed from the old glass top petrol pump as well as it was leaking petrol a bit, also fitted up a different fuel fitting on the outlet so it would accept the fuel hose and look a bit neater. fitted up a commodore pedal and fabricated a stop for that, and a shiny new aircleaner.

anyway it goes pretty well now the single barell was really holding it back. still have a bit of work to do on the cable setup and also have to find another carby with the electric auto choke fitted and swap that over and wire it up, this carby has been converted to manual choke but it doesnt work with the torana choke cable so its easier to just fit the electric one.

anyway back on the road which is the main thing plenty of time to sort out the gremlins!

Hey mate, how's the weber go compared to the single barrell you had on before?. I'm looking at the same conversion on a 202.. does it use less or more fuel?

cheers
Chris

the weber goes heaps better than the single barell. at the moment its using a fair bit more fuel but i need to change the jets as its running to pretty rich. the setup i have still needs a bit of work but im confident that once its all setup correctly i will be very happy with it.

took some pictures of the cage today.

hey postal see you offloaded my old 4 door on ebay the other day, is it still in tasmania? do u know what the new owner has planned for it?

heres some pics of my new dash set up, im now running a lj gtr tacho and a kmp/h speedo.

had to cut a section out of an lc circuit board i had lying around also weld in the provision for the plug into the back of the instrument cluster so i could retain the original wiring loom.

Posted Image

which left me with no fuel gauge so i relocated it to the glove box and picked up a little autometer z series gauge to do the job

planning on ditching the column shift steering column as ive got a floor shift one the way from a forum member :spoton:
will be pretty much the end of interior mods for now.

nice work on the dash mate, I did exactly the same with mine.. fuel gauge in the glove box. Had to completely butcher and re-wire my original loom cause my cluster was from an LJ.

Its looking so nice mate.
For some reason, the sprintmasters look so much bigger on your car! They look tops, as does everything else on the car. You've done a really good job with it

swapped over the trimatic column shift steering column over the weekend with a floor shift one i got of milco, had to swap the coffee pot for another one as the one on it was damaged, so i repacked and greased the top bearing and gave it a bit of a clean up and a lick of paint while i was there. previous column had the shifter and the factory shifter/selector lock and key on it so the new set up is much neater.
