Hi Baron.

I don't have Torana times for Barbagallo, only the Sti. The old girl doesn't do well at Barbs anyway with the little wheels.

With the Targa regs if Stubber turned up with his Group C HDT Harvey A9X would they restrict that particular car to max 8 inch wide rims or let it run the rim width it raced with?

This whole issue is really interesting.

If Stubber brought the old girl to Targa he would have to run a rim no bigger than 2 inches wider, 2 inches taller than the factory standard.
So using an A9X as our examply, 14 x 6, that gives us 16 x 8.

You can't use the 15 x 10's because tha car was homologated for group c, because the wheels were never a factory option.
Now the same would go for the GMP & A shell scenario.

The Porsches get away with the big rubber because when the factory homologated the RSR in '74, they offered the 15 x 8's as a factory standard on that car for that model.

We have run Dunlop D03's for the last couple of years. 225 50 15's

Excellent dry weather tyre, the car likes them. I don't do anything special with them and they last really well. I'm using medium which is the middle of the compounds, soft medium and hard. They are no good in the wet.

This year i am using a 245 50 15 Michelin TB15 R on the rear to try and get some extra width . Biggest rubber i can get to suit an 8 inch rim.

The fronts will stay the D03's unless my tyre man pulls a rabbit out of the hat and gets me a tyre that is more suited to rain.
All the usual suspects have been tried and basically nothing beats the dunlop on my car, and the dunlop is not flash in the wet.

Great idea on the video, maybe next year. Too late for this year , we are go for thursday

oh almost forgot, the offset is as wide as i can get it for the rules.

I have one, bought it 2 years ago at Bathurst, great pics for a small unit.

Unfortunately, mine just has static for sound. Doesn't matter if its on high or lo, just static.

This year we will use it and a new Vio Pencil cam i just bought.

Allows sound from the in car helmet intercom, so must remember that!

4 days and counting. Gunna be a wet race, not happy.

If you don't want to go too far, Muchea townsite.
A little but further will put you in Western Range, there are a couple of good viewpoints in there, otherwise pop in to Bindoon, see the cars on the oval during servicing and enjoy the fair, having a squizz at Bindoon special stage in town.

Alternatively, Coondle west always has a good show of people

Quick update



following the race, time to strip the engine down for the first time after 5000 k's.





Planning a bit of a cleanup, new inlet manifold, new rocker covers, quick revisit of the front sway bar setup, and mayebe a quick set of street pipes for summer cruising.
Over summer then, we'll enjoy putting some k's on her and updating the fuel system along the way.
