I can also remember a lot of articles on these,
especially one where the cost of a ZF trans-axle
was alsmost trippled because he was not classed
as a manufacturer. That would have gotten rid
of a great deal of duty etc. Put cost up.
What a beautiful purchase Mondie!
Funny the things we look at and lust after...
....poor as I am, Toranaless as I am..... I found
a little Fiat 124 AC in need of a good home.
Gorgeous looking car. All there, but in parts.
1.8ltr motor, engineered, nice little mags...
... all for $600!! But in VIC.
Cheers, Leakey

i dont reckon it would be too hard to build a replica but it prob only be a alfa GTV with a body kit...... as getting a engineer to sign off on a home-made one would be a nightmare not to mention the cost of all the engineer visits.........
i love it mate, no doubt you will treat it well and look after it, your a very lucky man.

..so is that bob roman...roman autotek?
Yes Bobs old car. He was actually involved with the original builds, his company did all the seats, carpet, door trims etc.
Leaky thats right, it was based off the Alfa V6 Sprint.
Heath, the Bundy um was there to tide you over if she let you down. Well it was built in Qld

You certainly have the taste for the most amazing cars mate! I think you need to open a museum with all your works-of-art!
Great buy no matter what it cost mate, I'm sure you will simply love driving it! I heard that they were worlds ahead of their time.
Regards
Tiny.

And these prices are based on km... so definately this one would be towards the higher end of the scale.

Great concept and a pity not more were built, but at the same time fantastic that at least a few were made.

Think you have your wires crossed there and thinking of a different Gio.FWIW the JUDGE was originally from Canberra and was owned by an antiques dealer. He used to race it regularly at the now defunct Canberra eigth mile dragstrip. I still have an article in a magazine somewhere in which it was compared to an old Centura I owned. $80K V's $800 or something similar. Needless to say the Centura flogged it !!!!

You'll have to get your name onto the owners list.
Nice vid of one on the dyno - with dudes hanging out the back to add a bit more weight on the rear.
I think I still have a copy of Australian Classic Car here (a year or two old) with a write-up about a yellow one. Onwer said he thinks of selling it sometimes, goes for a drive and changes his mind.
I also remember (vaguely) that some were offered to the Qld police for use as pursuit cars when they first come out. Offer was to let them use them for some long and then they'd buy them back at the same price.
They are very nice cars - you are just too lucky.

Hard to believe, but from a front wheel drive Alfasud Sprint actually. They were going to have a mid-mount Alfa V6 fitted, but cost and supply caused that idea to be abandoned. I was in the Perth Alfa club back in 1990, and we were lent one for test drives one day. Mmmm!!^^This car was built out of a Alfa GTV I believe.
Some of the Alfa clubs may have info on the cars, given their origins.
