Compared to the rest, it is a special......
Alfa Sprint shells - note the opposed throttle bodies on the "enhanced" Walkinshaw motor. Bumped the std power up phenomenally.
Any chance of a ride sometime?
There was one police test car. Must've had an awful time getting it back of the boys.....

When you get to see a few more cars, then you might start to notice some differences.......
Love to tell you what they are, but even I don't know.

Hi Grant,Bobby R's car wasn't the "normal" Giocattollo.
When you get to see a few more cars, then you might start to notice some differences.......
Love to tell you what they are, but even I don't know.
Grant..
There is a whole story behind the car and how it was built to be Bobs car as thanks for his support of the Giocattolo, he told me it had a better finished interior than the standard car with the use of more leather etc. The front grille is also unique, l have not seen pics of any other Gio with the mesh grille. Other than that l don't know of any other differences
l took the car in today for a RWC, here's a few pics of the underbelly. There is some very impressive Aussie engineering in the car for sure
Cheers Mondie

Please please hook up some cameras or cameo on The Car Show or something. I've never heard or seen one in action ... (too young you see?)

As for the audio clips, sorry but l have no idea where to start. Needless to say the Gio sounds like no other car, well that l have heard anyhow. It has a higher pitched note with a real rumble to it and is extremely loud when pulling hard. It sounds even better inside with the engine immediately behind you with the induction roar which if you have ever been in a Walkinshaw, is a pretty unique sound in itself.

Thanks for the "dinner via correspondence" so to speak. It looks and sounds (on paper) unreal. I can only imagine how impressively awesome it is ... since you've owned your fair share of aussie muscle (race and otherwise).

I'm tipping he just ticked all the boxes and let it go?The RWC guy must've shit himself when you brought that in for an inspection?
Too many moving suspension parts to check them all.

Whats in the Bosch box with the tools? Spark plug?

When these first came out one of my dads mates bought one.. new. He let my old man bring it home a couple of times, and of course my brothers and I....and all the other neighbourhood kids got joy rides in it..... Two things that have always remained with me is the sound it made, and the blistering speed.

To my knowledge his one was the only one made that was fully optioned.....But I could be wrong but that's what I was told.
It was white with brown leather interior. And the decals where green and red.
I rember that he had a few electrical probs with it, as it was always at the auto elecs.
He ended up selling after about 18 months and bought one of the Godzilla skylines.
A couple of my mate's boss owns the one mentioned earlier in the thread, the one that races at Targa.
I haven't had a ride in that one

Also given todays boom times and love of mucsle cars, wouldn't it be good if the company started production again........ Somebody must still own the company??
somebody shouyld write a letter or something...

The Toy Shop went out of business in the stock market crash of the 80's.
Not enough highrollers willing to hand over the folding, and the government screwing the import laws, etc to suit themselves (eg. more folding in their pockets.).

I remember my old man taking me to place in North Sydney, called
"The Toy Shop". It was on the grround floor of one of the office buildings....
They had a red GT40 in the front window..... I remember the salesman telling us it was about $40,000.
That would have been in the mid to late 80's.......
