The Harry Firth Dinner

G'Day All

I thought that I would start a separate thread about the Harry Firth Dinner as it is an event in it's own right, even though it is part of the Toranafest Celebrations.

Here are the details of the Dinner that I can tell you about at the moment..

When: 19th Sept 2008
Time: From 6.30 - 11.30pn
Where: Newcastle Jockey Club,
Boardmeadow, Newcaslte
Cost: $99.00 per person
Cost includes: Three course meal, Beer, Wine and Softdrink package for 4hours (we are trying to get this to 5hrs), entertainment, etc.
Whos going: So far, we have the following people attending the dinner;
Bobby Morris,
Paul Dumbrell,
Ned & Bruce Nowacki,
Bruce McPhee & Max Styles, and
Dave McLean,
We are awaiting replies from;
Fred Gibson, (looks good!!!!!!)
Bob Jane, and
Allan Moffat
and others that I cannot think of at the moment...

What's planned...
We will have a display of road cars that Harry had an influence over during his time at both Ford and Holden.
we will be having interviews with the special guests throughout the night,
we will have on display two brand new VE HDT vehicles,
we are looking at some special items for auction and raffles as well.

Advance ticket sales for members of the Forums, etc are being planned for Mid to end of June, and public ticket sales will commence about a month later.

I will put a copy of the poster on here a little later when we get closer to the Advance ticket sales date.

If you have any questions about the dinner, etc please feel free to ask me..

When I have more info, I will post it here..

G'day All

well we are getting close to the Advance ticket sales date!!

Rest assured that the 15th June you will see the Ticket Order Form and Poster here first!!

Just an Update, the following people have been confirmed;

Max Stahl,
Fred Gibson, and
Christine Gibson (nee Cole)

Others we are currently working on are;
Sandra Bennett,
Larry Perkins,
Graham Moore, and
others...

The "guest" liust is fast becoming a who's who of early australian motorsport with many of these people legends in the own right.

I know that there are many of you wanting to order your tickets (you would not believe the amount of phone calls and emails that I have been receiving!!), and I think that it's great!!

It's certainly going to be a very special night indeed. We have got so much planned that we are wondering if we can fit everything in!!

Well here is the up to date list of the VIP's that will be attending the Dinner. My hats off to a few of the Guys and Girls as a few of them are taking an early flight on the Sat morning up to Spped on Tweed.

Norm Thoroughgood - Brakes Man (Cessnock Motors)

We are still waiting confirmation from a few others but as it stands it's a pretty impressive list. My thanms th Scott (XU1UFO) for his efforts in getting these people for the dinner.

It promises to be a great night.

Also, I dont think the dramas will be with Bob Morris and Christine Gibson, more like my missus and Jim Hunter! bahaha. long story there, but ought to be interesting.

your just lucky that Alan Moffat didnt decide to come, Grahame Moore and him were never on too good of terms either from the stories i heard!

Yes, and Yes..

all you need to do is to print out the Ticket form and fill it in and fax it off to Ronald McDonald House.

Hi all

just to let you know, we have already cracked 150 tickets for the Dinner!!

The dinner was given a write up in the Newcastle Herald on the weekend so interest is starting to gather from the public.

If you are coming, get your ticket forms in sooner rather than later!

Do we receive any confirmation of our ticket purchase when we send the form through? I emailed mine to the bloke on the form from the charity, never heard back, but the money was taken off the credit cards, so im assuming we have tickets.....

Hi Chris

you should recieve your tickets in the mail. If you haven't heard anything after about two weeks from sending your form in, give Rohan a call at RMH. Her number is on the form.

Entry form sent off today and we have 8 Vic torana club members attending which is excellent. We should also have 6 cars cruising up for the weekend also which should be fun.
