To be fair,
I don't think many people think the cars represent what you can buy from the local Dealer.

As someone said earlier, the class is about entertainment, the problem is, the amount of money needed to provide the entertainment has gotten out of hand.

Has anyone watched a Commodore Cup race over the last couple of years? They sound good like a V8 should, the racing is close, since they went to VS, the cars look good, they are mostly reliable due to the limited power output, and you can run one on a reasonable budget.

I'm not suggesting we replace the V8s with them, but they are an example of how a class can provide good entertainment for a fraction of the cost.

^ I agree with the above but you have to take into account that most of the drivers wanted it the way it is now due to the safety factor with the evolution of the cars performance.
You can not have ur cake and eat it too.
