What I forgot to add was that I need the measurement "B" ( from the DBA catalogue ) to be between 71 mm and 106 mm.

Staying with Commodore discs
You can get a VT style hub drilled in your required pattern
Using this and any of the larger VT onwards discs you will have the same dimension "B" as the 019's

DBA5055 343mm
There is also a 362mm and larger again if you get real keen
These are 32mm thick though..... so the CP5200 which suits 28mm would need to be bridge spaced in the centre (not advised) or step up to the CP5555 6 pot caliper

Discs can be had undrilled depending on when production runs are done to pull them off the line

That was my first thought, except wouldn't you still wind up with a 69.5 mm ( Commodore ) centre bore, as opposed to the 71.5 mm centre bore of the Ford? Or can some places deal with that too? I'm guessing I'd be heading to Race Brakes in North Melbourne or BGT in Burwood Rd. Hawthorn for that? I know it's going to cost more money, but isn't that half the fun? The other half of the fun is explaining the extra expense to your wife. But since I haven't had a wife for over 12 years, it looks like I'll miss out on that bit.

hi neil i just found this thread and back in one of your first posts you mention trying to find another way to sort out the hand brake issue when running a later model commodore disc brake rear end, does that mean youve sorted it out with the earlier style? i am running VN disc brake set up that ive adapted to the banjo diff and im still trying to sort out the hand brake, as you are probbaly aware the sedan hand brake cable is too short, apperantly the wagons cables are supposed to fit but i cant see how when sedans and wagons are exactly the same until after the diff. ive been wondering if crewman hand brake cables may be longer but i suspect they would be the other set up any way so no gain there. any advice/ ideas?

cheers adam

Talk to your local brake place, as they should be able to measure and order custom length cables for you.

Make some spigot spacers to get the centre bore you want for your wheels
Dave 355LX is having some made for his now as he is running Toyota (I think) wheels on his (Ford pattern but 12mm studs.. so not actually Ford)

Handbrakes I haven't got to yet

Yeah had some rings made to slip over the hub of the disc's and the axle hub's on the back as well. Very basic, any machine shop will do them with ease.

Easiest thing is to take all your bits and peices in (rims hubs etc) that need adapting, then you'll be sure no drama's. Oh and I'd suggest telling them what depth you want too, mine I think are a little too shallow, only about 5mm seating face for the centre of the rim hubs now, but better than nothing.....

Was talking to Ian from Rare Spares in Christchurch on Friday, sorting the dispatch of my new rear axle for the VL wagon, and asked him to send me a second disc brake hand brake cable for the Torana. He told me they were the all the same length. He checked his GM parts listing while we were on the phone and they only list one cable for sedan and wagon...???

Keen to find out if this is correct.....

Today I picked up my pair of DBA 019's. How are the adapters going Neil?

Two years later...

Is there much of an update on this?

Since this is related to his business, I would think it would be on his list of priorities. In any case, I have a template I will probably play with if Neil is too busy. I also must do something about this project this year, it's getting a bit long in the tooth.

Sorry guys
I have had some issues
Failed relationships
Changing jobs a few times
Business starting then going broke leaving me $40k in the red
Girlfriend murdered in August (stranged to death by her jealous ex)
I haven't touched any of my projects in nearly 2 years
So I've kinda had a few things on my mind
Currently unemployed too

355LX Dave has a set of calipers but hasn't decided on what disc to use yet
The-GTS has this setup already on his car and made his own brackets
Maybe he can assist

Guys I have a mate that has just started up a machine shop. If you need brackets I can probably get him to make some. Not sure what he will charge But he would be able to copy mine exactly.
My car is apart so wouldnt be too hard to pull mine off

AP 4 pot (CP6607 I think)
DBA 4049
Harrop drum adaptors

Thats kinda the plan anyway

I did a Google search and found this thread. What I couldn't find was any info on those AP calipers you mentioned, was that a typo?
