Kung fu instructor, tree lopper and bottlo guy whilst a student
Worked in engine design for ford last year for work experience year,
Engineering student finishing this year,
Signed the contract to work in product development for holden starting Jan.

I started off working at Big W thru school and uni just doing everything (checkouts, door etc)
Im a graphic designer doing freelance work
Also an illustrator
Worked at Telstra just after uni in an inbound callcentre answering billing problems.
Then worked at a Telstra shop selling phones internet all that sort of stuff.
Worked in recruitment for the AFP, which was great as i got to travel round to career expos etc. Also was a testing facilitator holding the entry exams as well, which again required me to travel round Aust.
Now am looking at doing signwriting soon.

At present I pilot 8 1/2 tonnes of North America's ''finest'',read Kenworth. Truck driver for past 40yrs (I will learn how to do it one day) I don't consider myself dumb.

Good to see a few other substation guys on here,
I specialise in plant maintenance (CB's, TF's, OLTC's etc) up to 275kV
Love it!

How many times have you said what you are reading by mistake to a customer?


I didnt include previous jobs, just the 2 current.

job decription-chaffeur,cook,laundry assistant,ironer ,yardsman,cleaner,thelist goes on.before that made safes to store dynamite for the mines,structural steel welder,and before that sheet metal worker.anything prior to that needs higher security clearance.

Started a trade..carpenter..did that for a few years

went into sales..8 years Frank Matich/Bell Helmets..did all the race meetings Bathurst etc..where I met all the guns on bikes and in cars..
then onto Pirelli Motorcycle Tyres..that took me to Italy.

Then Dunlop mainly Motorcycle...was on loan to car racing sometimes.. ..8 years racing stuff..that took me to USA and UK..
moon lighted in and out of the race scene on weekends where needed for another 9 years..

Sales Manager Jaguar for 2 years

State Manager NEC Telecoms for 10 years..

Ran away to the country..

Running Master Builders in Hervey Bay

couldnt get me back to the city.

Currently i run my own Buis selling Motor bike parts for Early English bikes
and WLA and limited Indian before that i had a few jobs
I worked at Mcdonals and made lids when i was 14-17 (after school)
worked on a couple Mushroom farms and did some Concreting
Worked at a flooring Warhouse for over 2 years
Worked in another warhouse till i lost my licence
Did a little Security Work at Bathurst for the V8s

First Job as a cleaner helping my mum at the Port Kembla Stevedoring offices Port Kembla Harbour then selling papers on the ships at the wharves in PK Harbour.

Then started my apprenticeship at the Port Kembla Steelworks (BHP) to become a Sparkologist

Work places: BHP, abottoirs (2), open cut mine & South West Slopes Water Supply.

11KV to 12V, thousands of amps to miliamps, .25 HP pumps to 900 HP pumps, Telemetry to DC control, 85 tonne WABCO Haulpak Truck to a Hilux, ancient electrics to high tech.

Now on a disability pension due to back problems.
Have been back to TAFE to do Digital Photography, Cert 2 in IT and Cert 2 in Multimedia.

Wife and I are now Respite Carers for Foster Children.
Very challenging but rewarding :spoton:

rrrrr no, as I said I work at a Navy Base in NSW so I'm not part of the traveling roadshow, that would have been the guys from the Gold Coast Base :D

I think i officially have the most girly job on the forum im a " Florist " prior to this I worked in my parents Auto spares shop , when I run into people who knew me from there they wonder how i ended up in such a girly job. But I still get my hands dirty believe me its not the cleanest job in the world :rolleyes: Plus im a mummy of a 5 year old and one in the oven.

Fitter and turner by trade. worked the last 6.5 years since i finished at 20 as a deisel fitter/mechanic in mines across australia even done a few months in asia. Worked in mineral exploration across australia on drill rigs and even underground mining as an operater fitter. currently a field service fitter on mobile rock crushing equipment.
