There are alot of cars that are ridiculously low but you never seem to see alot of toranas like this. I have seen a few, none are forumers though..........

In NSW I was told it was 600mm to centre of headlight for legal limit.

Mine was alot lower than that, handled great but forget speed humps.
One day I pulled upto a standard torana at the lights with two old guys in it, I could see them out the corner of my eye looking hard at mine so i looked over at them and I was looking at their door handle lol.

100mm is the lowest any part of your car can be. That includes exhaust etc... So if you can get a really well tucked up exhaust etc, you can technically basically have sills 100mm off the ground (LOWEST POINT OF THE CAR TO BE 100MM OFF THE GROUND!)

I have IRS commo ones in the rear of mine, Makka has Camira in the rear of his. We both have some form of superlows in the front. Makkas sits low as! He can get away with more because he has no front spoiler or drop tank!

What wheels and tyres do you run? That will make a big difference as well!

If you are running 18's the car will sit higher (Which will mean to can lower it more) But It will be a shocking ride! LOL.

I think makka said he picked up the springs at a swap meet, put them in and loved the height. I'm sure he will be on later to comment.

Makka has a pic of his car with 17's on, not sure if it was when he had the camira springs in or not though. Rhy's from Wodonga (Cant think of his username atm), also had a pic of 17's on his car with camira springs...

18's would be wild! but as MRSSLX said would be a bumpy ride... in the latest zoom magazine there is a LC or LJ cant remember but it has 20's WOW looks so good! and thats lowered heaps...

i plan to run 17's and lower the back down as much as i can but u do run into problems like exhaust hitting on the diff and also bottoming out on everything..

you could go to the extreme and fit cabin controlled airbags and pump it up when needed and slam it down when u want that look..

The reason that nobody has a super super low Torana is because it is just f*ckin' silly!

If you want low, take your springs and shocks out and be done with it...

Yeh, Too low is just silly! The Torana body is not made to be "dumped" like a commodore... The commodores will have body kits and stuff that make the car look lower... Think how much extra the sideskirts and front/rear bars actually make the cars look!

If that 100mm thing is correct then i think you could get a pretty nice looking torana at that height. You would need to get the right size rims and tyres to get it to not look silly tho i would think

Remember, that's the lowest part of the car! Exhausts hang low, so you crossmembers, diffs etc etc...

So in saying that, a lh/lx should be 600mm to centre of headlight at ride height and no point be lower that 100mm from the road with all tyres deflated.
Don't shoot the messanger.

when the engineer measured mine he didnt let the tyres down (and it was still too low, about 90mm, at the exhaust)

i tend to agree with the previous comments about toran's not really beign made for extreme lowering. as always witht hese things there are exceptions but on the whole i think "dumping" a torana is gonna result in some odd looking cars.
i intend to drop mine a fair bit at the front and leave it stockish height at the rear and see how that looks to start with and go from there.
