When you aim, just make sure the toilet seat is up!

I should probably tell my 6year old that

Take the springs out and run on the bump stops?

Makka runs LJ torana shocks in the rear of his car... I think he worked out, that he is running about 4 inches lower than standard... 1"-2" drop, you can still use standard Torana Shocks, once you got 3"-4" drop you have to re-evaluate what your doing RE: shocks.

A belated thanx for the explanation Matt. I had missed the response's.

There is nothing up Josh's ass, he just put forward his opinion, as Matt and I did on the previous page.

I know that my LJ front sway bar scrapes like crazy over large enough speed bumps, and its not even "that" low.

I dont get how all the young tossers is "dumped" VR/VS or even the VT/VX commos drive around, must go through alot of bushes/car/tyres/wheels everything would cop a flogging.

my mate in his Silvia had to carry two jacks around with him cos he would get stuck on speed bumps all the time. Not to mention the cops hassling him all the time too.

broke his front mount off too by going onto some sand. Was not happy about having sand all through is air system.

Ah well, as long as they like it.

Evan.

thanks for that Makka.
I have modified my gearbox crossmember (pics in 'slr 383' thread) so i can get the car lower

how much lower do you think you would be able to go if it wasnt for the exhaust?
not sure if this has been asked before but what size and profile tyres are you using?

Everything at the front end of the car is next lowest after the exhaust, not much difference in it either. Cross member, front spoiler if any, sway bar (especially if front mounted). I can't see how makka's car would clear 100mm at the cross member...

that one looks like it might have a moly tube chassis in the front cos the air cleaner seems a long way back or have i had too much to drink and that is that part of the caravan.

other than that it is sitting on bump stops

Josh stop going into this thread if u are only gonna give stupid opinion about what you would do. Why dont you start your own thread "What Josh thinks is the right thing to do with everyone elses torana"

You do realise that "dumping" your torry will make it handle like a pig right?

I suppose it all depends on what you are after, but going too low (moreso the methods involved) will make you car handle shithouse.

if you are more drag orientated it probably wouldnt be too bad, but I like corners, so there is a "sensible" limit to lowering before it starts to become a boat.

Wouldnt it become the opposite to being a boat?? I would think it would be alot stiffer and more like a go kart and handle awesome. How high off the ground are the V8 supercars?? F1 racers?? they dont handle like boats

202LX, those cars are designed to be that low... V8 supercars have Body kits to make them LOOK super low...

And the fact of the matter is that you're only allowed to have it 100mm off the ground... Any lower than that is just asking for a canary.
