I can take some.
its not much to look at as i have been slowly disassembling it.
it suffers from rust in the common places, but is quite a good straight example
got a couple of old school panel beaters/ craftsmen not far from here so i hope to have it to a bare shell prior to xmas for them to start on
its a baroda silver car built for aust market from what i understand, but was sold new in Auckland.

mine has the two tags on the front panel either side of the rad, (original rivots)
it has never had a plate up on the panel behind the booster.
I have never got to he bottom of that, but have heard that there may be a reason this tag is not there.
Spoke to a gent called Richard on the gold coast last year(lost his details) he has a ck.
he told me that 7 cks were imported new to nz through GMH and mine is not one of them
I dont know how it got here but it was sold in NZ new
I am assuming that the adr tag is the one thats missing
on the right front i have the 82911,,,,,, tag
on the left front is the larger tag with trim, paint details etc.

So have you imported your cars from over here?
They are certinally getting thin on the ground, not that they were ever that common.

cheers
Roger

no mate i got my cars back here in aus, 1 from ebay not that long ago, and under the front seat was a bank card [anz] with a fellars name on it,,, but not the bloke i got the car from, it had its original motor still in the car and alot of other original stuff, but was missing its adr tag,,, more words from past owners and little nics and nacs, like nz tryers, fuel cut off, 000 dearler code on the vin fish and a bogged up key-way in the boot aswell as full rollcage, all pointed to ex nz race car, there was alot of other things too, like heat wrap around some wirers and fire retard sprayed all over engine bay, the car as had a wack in the front at some stage, because its had a radiator support panel and 2 front guards put back on it, but there is no dobt in my or anyones mine whom as seen the car, that it is a xu1.

the other car is also a rally red xu1 from qld i got it about 3 or 4 years ago sitting in the open, the lady there said the boys where usein it to learn to drive, it had a wack in the passingers side front but was missing adr tag aswell 000 dearler code, no original motor, but lots of other goodies, and lady give me heaps of info and there is no dobt it came over with a family member from nz back in the mid 80s.

it seems if someone got a car here in oz and took it home to nz thay would keep there adr tag, but if a car was ship over by a dearler, then by law thay had to remove the adr tag, being because the australian desiner rule did not and are not the same as nz ones,,,,, there was 2 ck bathurst toranas on ebay 2 months back, both missing adr tags and nearlly every car you see for sale from nz dont have one.

mabe its something 1 of you kiwi fellars can investergate,,,, would be great to know for sure.

cheers gong

i might sort this tag thing out as its somthing that has niggled me over the years.
was that car of yours from the waikato area?
if it was an ex racer i may be able to help there. let me know.

so far i have only track the car back 2 people, am still tryin to find the feller whoms name is on the key card, im sure once i find him, he will be able to fill in the spaces, has his key car expired in 93.
but in the mean time if you could look into this adr thing it would be good to know the outcome.

yeh this bloke on the gold coast, had that car for sale on amc here in oz for awhile, no original motor, lj s vin tag, it had its adr tag but no pics of a trim tag to say it had that, but was a very clean looking car, he redeuced the price and then it disapeared,,,, do you know if he sold it???i try to keep tabs on these cars even know it is a bit late has most have already had the ifs and buts done to them.

Recently there were 2 1971 Bathurst CK,s for sale on ebay. These cars were both NZ cars and were being sold as a pair. From memory neither had an Australian ADR tag and both were dealer 000 S cars. No 000 S cars have there sales date recorded the same as the 000 X cars.

In Harry Firth Torana the great HDT Book he put out, there is a Workshop Pics of the Yellow LC HDT XU-1(KSN.116)
and the Green LC HDT XU-1(BOI.812) it says first cars in W/Shop,1970.
So im guessing they would be the earlestest LC XU-1's,So im guessing BOI.812 Green LC HDT XU-1 is the Car Harry took to Warwick Farm and Driven by Colin Bond or the yellow LC HDT(KSN.116)

There was another chap from NZ chasing up a CK Bathurst not so long ago. It was in AMC magazine. I think that car was also silver from memory. All 3 000 B dealer cars were completed on the same date. 30-09-1971. They all may have been silver and all may have ended up in NZ.................... :sofa:

its silver on the tag
i now have the door panels off and its silver under there, it was painted red around 1975. i painted salamanca around 1987, as at that stage thats what i thought it was.
we are pulling it down in assemblies, then rebuilding and storing.
that will leave me with a bare shell, maybe around xmas.
