in theory !!!! after that much weld the thru pin does nothing? as long as the welds from the side gears to hemi are deep though beeing cast to steel they are going to crack out! but i know bugger all about diffs ;-) so jam some more weld at it .... whats the worste that can happen

Turns out the worst thing that could happen is it could lock up and snap my middle uni joint :(. Crappp :P. At least the tink tink tink went away.

Tell me about it.

The diff has been long overdue to die, im glad it took the uni joint with it and not the gearbox lets put it that way. Very disappointed that ill probably miss out on taking it to Toynats over the weekend, but lets see if i can pull a miracle out of my hat... :P. The last few weeks i've been trying to bodge the car up enough to work for this weekend, my fault for being bodgy :(.

Keep the welder away from your uni joints :P

Yeh, nah all the best mate. Much better to get it out of the way now than to break it on the track I say.

For sure, thats why i took it out for a errr... test tonight. I figured if it couldnt handle a small thrashing tonight it wouldnt last on the track. I'm supprised that it didnt die during the 4th gear u-turn, but it did die about 2mins later when i took off from an intersection :S.

Hey 77hatch, (btw whats your real name :P)

Whats the chances of you being able to swap a yoke from one tail shaft to the other for me today or tomorrow? I have another diff center to go in and a single piece tail shaft from an earlier celica. It looks like the right length but it has the wrong yoke on it :(.

Ill PM you my mobile number :). There would be a couple of cartons in it for you ;).

Scratch that, the Skidlica is back in business.

Stole the diff center from the TA22 we have spare, pinched its tail shaft and put the ra23 yoke on the front. Yay :D.

It used to 360 everytime it got sideways until i removed the rear swaybar :surrenderwave: hahaha. It does the best circles, wait until tomorrows videos ;). It swings around on the spot.

This was my fastest run, 9.1. I eased it off the line through first and most of second before opening it up.

You've done well.:3gears:. The left lane at Bodangora has a slight camber to the edge of the track, which allows the car to head left whilst doing the burnout. That's why most of the quicker cars stay in the right lane if they can. It's also good to put another face to a name.

Nothing different required until you get to 7.7sec, then you need an ANDRA license($150).
