Thanks. I have to keep the starfire til I learn to drive (according to Mum) soon after that I might go for the 6. Dad looked at it and said something about it being really good to change because it just bolts straight on so it wouldn't be a hard job? Oh and drag day, not for a while LOL

^^ If it was my choice... Learn how to drive with the Starfire... Then find yourself a 202 out of a VH Commodore (Blue motor), freshen that up and drop it in. You'll get heaps of trouble free motoring out of something like that! Perfect for a daily.

Congratulations! There is no better feeling than getting your first car, especially when it's a Torana :)

Looks like a very solid foundation to start with. Enjoy customising it now and making it your own.

I vote that you leave it looking pretty much like it is, but whack on a brand new set of rims - like Convo Pro's or Weld Pro Stars! HAHAHA, INSTANT BLING FACTOR! Deck it out with some decent stereo gear, and it'll be your perfect first car, lots of cruizin' ahead :)

Cheers.

Is that a commodore rear bumper?

Is it just me... or is the front bumper a rear bumper joined together in the middle... and not just a front bumper joined..

Thanks everyone. Dad said it looked like a commodore bumper, a early one like a VB, because they started production close to when mine finished. And I think I may just get it resprayed in the same colour as it is now - aztec silver, not sure though.
Today, first Dad checked to see whether it had rear disc or drum brakes, and it has rear drum, front disc. Then we pulled the backseat out and score - found 25c! LOL We took the seat cover off the seat and it is in very great condition! Then Dad had to go out or something, so he left me to it. I unscrewed the scuff plates so I could get the carpet out. Ripped some out because it is stuffed and I need to fish oil the inside. I will need to take the front seats out tommorow so I can rip the rest of the carpet out and fish oil it. Then Dad showed me how to take the doortrims off and bits and pieces. Found some fair rust in the bottom of the driver's side back door. There is also a bit on the other back door. I cleaned the back window and put the GMH sticker on the back, and we have a White with black writing show/display plate so put that on the back, it says "Torana."
Here are some pics...

Thanks.
Today we pulled the front seats out and pulled some more carpet out, then we had to take the consul out to get the rest of the carpet out. Then vacuumed it, we found some glass, Dad said there may have been a broken window or something. Then got a screwdriver and scraped some of the rust then used a wire brush. And again vacuumed it.. Then the fish oiling began.. Dad did something to the engine (I was putting the fish oil in the car) and then I tried to start it and it STARTED! :spoton: That's about all we did for today.. but a CERTAIN CAT walked on my bonnet and boot with muddy paws! So I'm going to put the other front seat (I put in one) and the backseat in tommorow and then wash it.

Well this thread has taken off like a LX!

Do yourself a favour and find another door. Unless your dad can cut and weld in his sleep.

Looks alright but ey, make sure you get rid of those badges!

Ive already said this, but lower it ay, and get a nice set of wheels. :)

Bit of rust, not a showstopper but a bit of work.

Do it right, do it once.

Keep at it

Thanks all. Yeah trying to do heaps on it, it's great fun!

Haha thats a good thing right Carmelo!? Haha :) I told Dad we should get a new door, he said "We can just weld it" and I said "Cmon we have 12 spares!" So he said I could go have a look at the others and maybe get a couple off. Yep will probably lower it and change wheels when I have the money...

Unsure about the badges....

Haha thanks, I love the interior, the colour is great.

Today we did get a fair bit done, but not a whole lot. We have made good progess since I got it though. Posted Image We put the passenge seat and backseat back in and then I got some armourall on the seats, dashboard, and parcel shelf, turned up AWESOME! Then we scraped the rust off the inside of the doors with a screwdriver, then wire brushed it and fish oiled the back two, front will be done tommorow. Then we painted the four scuff plates primer ready to paint silver tommorow. I decided I'm going to get a new door defiantley! Or maybe two, the other back one is looking a bit sad too... That was about it today..
