I used to get asked this when I was in business.
My answer was: "Yes, $50,0000"
That was what my R.W.C. licence was worth to me per annum at the time.

ive cleaned the exhaust manifolds and looked into the shifter linkage and
to change it to the other side will be too much trouble

what is the easiest way to get thick grease oil and dirt off the motor and box
are there any certain ways to do it?

does any1 know of a place in melb the will do dodgy road worthys?

if you going to ask for dodgy road worthys at least PM it. Not in public :blink2:

i agree i use to work next to a mechanic that does dodgys and half the cars that went there should b in a crusher not on the rd
yeah i agree there are things that should b over looked like small rust spots diff coloured panels but not wat some expect to get away with
the tyres should have tread on for alot of reasons for example so u stop in time as to not run up a car with kids in the back!

all i can think of is someone getting a dodgy and driving there car into another one that has one of my kids in it all because "the tie rod end will be fine mate cant afford new ones yet"!
(well dont drive the f#@%ing thing until u can afford the bits that need attention)

sorry to take over ur thread mate just an issue that i believe we should all face i like most on this forum make sure my daily is safe enough that it is not going to fall apart and kill someone!

Glass the rust up nicely and you won't be able to see it. Ooops did I say that out loud?

Look you may or may not be able to get a dodgy roadworthy, but I would encourage you to try and find a relaxed inspector, rather than some dodgy c unt that isn't even gonna tell you what is f ucked and why it's unsafe.

Its a pity to glass it up. The old Statesmans look so good when fixed nice.
I got a 1984 Caprice, will do that up some day, looking a bit shabby. I wont be using glass for the small rust spots.

Why paint it at all? Just clean it up nicely and if anything is gonna rust paint it silver/black.

Just a dirty old auto mate, don't need to show it off!

we found that the dizzy rotor and cap were screwed
the only problem i had was that the new exhaust manifolds dont line up with the

So what's the story? You're driving it for a while and then pulling it down for a bit of a rebuild?
