finally the last bit of rust to be repaired, guess
this is what caused the bottom door hinge to rust out.

G'day, not much done, but i got the right quarter finished, up to getting the crease line correct and to hide the weld on the left quarter after a near perfect replacement section was fitted.its taken two thin skims of bog to get just right. i hate using it but i'm no good at lead filling. also done final coat of high fill in the engine bay, alot better now.

here some pics of the new c.o.m.e inlet manifold i bought, i had to do some minor mod's
so it would clear the roller lifter bracket (spider thingy).
i didn't really want to take to it with a grinder, but it did the job o.k in the end.
other than the obvious i'm happy with the fitment and look of it.
the fella that took the order wrote it up (wrong) as a vn v8 not a vt v8,
c.o.m.e said the vt one's are already milled for this and advise me what to do all good now.

the lugs that had to be ground down
Attached File  PIC_0833.JPG   174.27K   23 downloads
this was the first attempt, not wanting to take to much off.
Attached File  PIC_0832.JPG   136.14K   31 downloads
they were still hitting this bracket, so back to the grinder.
Attached File  PIC_0836.JPG   113.64K   28 downloads
finally got it to clear, this is what i came up with. it work's but i
should of just ground the whole lug off.
Attached File  PIC_0846.JPG   174.24K   44 downloads
the final trial fitted, walla!

Todd, i'm going for a holley 750 DP street carb, a cam has been on the cards, do you recommend a particular grind size. i just fitted the ASR street comp sump tonight that takes care of the bottom end of thing's.

Don't get me wrong but it was kinda sad to see the VT220Kw disappear into just another carbed holden V8, they really were a fitting end to a long running power plant of humble beginnings.

Don't get me wrong but just another carby holden v8 look is what i wanted so all is good.
i'm not worried about the fuel bill just the power, this is the way to go so i have been told.
time will tell once its all hooked up to the top loader 4spd , 3.5:1 ratio 9inch.
