Jamie's VT Calais looks very good with the monaro headlamp conversion.
It's surprising how much difference a headlamp change makes!
I had no issue with the lights on the trip home.

Looks like the series2 woodgrain kit has been fitted. That smartens up the interior also.

Nice buying Matt,, but one question...is Maddy happy?

extractors & decent exhaust
enlarge the opening on the snorkel/otr thing(costs nothing)
shift kit(my fave mod on these cars)

Then enjoy ctruising it,if you're really going to splurge then try to get a 3.45 lsd diff & get speedo corrected.

I miss the sound of my old 5 litre vt.

Yep! Cos i was a hearbeat away from buying a VX 5.7L Calais for 10.5k and that was not on gas!

So to find this, for half the price and on gas she is very happy! Means my loan is paid off and i have money in savings for a change!

Just got home from picking it up and im very happy! $32 to fill her up and should get about 400+kms easy!

The heater doesnt seem to work, i probably need a new heater tap or something, but everything else works! Just have to get the smoked in smell out of the car! Got the airfreshener pumping now!

Oh, and the 5 Litres sound so much tougher than the LS1's!

Mick, i swear i saw you and your car driving down my road this morning! We were in Maddys new VT, so i highly doubt you would have recognised us at all!

Yeah, carport is also on the agenda, we have a million things planned for the house, just time these days! Never have enough of it!

Yeah Matt I was in Upwey on Sunday morning so that probably was.

I reckon the late five litres are a much better motors than the early 'gen 3s' anyway. Apparently the V8s in the VT series 2s and VXs had alot of teething problems.

Yeah, and to be honest... I really wanted a car on Gas... The 5 Litres are perfect motors to convert to gas!

I test drove a few VT 5L and some of them were really really gutless!

This one goes alright, the exhaust system must help a bit i guess...

I'm going to get it detailed in the next few days, so i chuck some pics up when thats done

yeah alot developed piston slap caused by the piston gouging the bore and had teflon pistons fitted under warrenty.

would rather a late inj 5 litre than a gen 3 any day!

And please leave the spoiler off it, keep it clean looking!

Buy a bunch of cans of Kitten brand foaming upholstery cleaner.

Pull the seats and go to town on them and the carpet. probably take 1.5 cans for the front seats combined, 1.5 on the rear and 2 cans on the carpet, you just sponge it off with a damp rag and it smells great!

Worked for m on my old VR and in karlies rolla.

Give Gary a yell if you want a 3.45:1 LSD, he has a whole rear end to sell from the SS we are wrecking.

Yeah, gave it a quick detail last night. Helped a fair bit with the smell.

Need to go buy some proper cleaning stuff though, that will help heaps! I'll probably get that upholstery cleaner stuff, have used it before and it did work well!

I need to sort out the RWC first thing, then i can start thinking about other things...

Looks good mate. VT & 5.0L are a good combination and on gas it will be really cheap to run.

Borrow my parents trailer?

Got some leather cleanser on the seats tonight! Helping with the smell! And feeling much better! Nothing beats giving a dirty new car a really really good detail! Makes you realise the bargain you got!

Looking forward to giving it a buff over the weekend! Also booked in for a Roady early next week!

Leaving Baseball training tonight, walking to the car... It does sit high... Think i will get the springs off ya chris! HAHAHA!

No spoiler, Monaro taillights and VX boot, Monaro headlights and a set of nice big chunky rims.

And get the auto kitted up, you won't know what hit you when you tromp it.

Looks like a good buy though :D
