And paul wasnt giving it assloads off the line either! so it will scoot in an LC!

I was finding very hard to find that balance between loosing traction and hooking up due to the fact that I couldn't even hear my car.

The only way to overcome this i've found is to get a good tacho with a shift light, but you probably don't care much for one of those if you hardly ever use the car at the drags much.

I was thinking about the same idea.

A friend of mine makes the shift I lights and they are just awesome for that very reason.

I'll have to grab one. I also tells you battery voltage too upon initial start.

You can just get a shift light that isn't attached to a tacho. About $50 upwards on eBay, and you can install it discretely or have it removable (i.e. just put it in the glovebox when you aren't racing)

This is what I'm taking about, not some tacky single light flash.

That's probably a bit too open wheelery for my taste, you can get ones that have two small LEDs that light up one after the other and then a decently bright main shift light comes on, can't remember who makes them. But each to their own

So been trying to get this thing started. After buying a Series 1 ECU and Loom, I then worked out that the motor is a Series 2! Its been changed. So now on the look out for a Series 2 Loom and ECU! Arrggg

Any progress yet?

You might want to join the skyline autralia forum. They are a very active bunch with so many members.

You might even be able to but the bits back from the car you bought from the very same forum.

It sucks that they cut the loom. Why people are so lazy to just unclip a few plugs.

Well... I finally got a Loom sent from Brisy today, but it arrived and the thing has been cut up too! Arrgg why cant the guys with Skylines leave their looms in one piece! Looks like its been in a S13 or something...

Soo more fun ahead! I now have 3 looms, each one is a mess.

I might start playing with the body again, give my head a rest.

Sooo cut up 2 looms to make one (about 100 wires to join). Plug it all in and no spark! Grrr.

Might have ANOTHER loom set up for the 29th of Jan so see how that goes.

Went to Summernats this year and wow I'm all motivated again! Back in the shed, ordering the CRS Chassis Kit with the extras next pay. Fun begins again. This is one slow ass build this time.

I think this guy might have been driving your donor car

I have cream/bone leather interior in mine and i would never do it again. Black looks tough with maybe a dash of colour here or there as highlights would look a treat.

That loom sounds like a nightmare but soldier on, you'll get it sorted eventually. Also keep an eye on ebay as there seems to be a chasis kit on there every few months, the last 2 went for pretty cheap = 700, missing the front crossmember plate and another went for 400 for the two main rails only. Shitloads cheaper than 1500 for new ones.
Cheers
Ben

Well just found out that the R33 Front GTS-T Brakes arnt going to work, so going to sell the setup and go for the R32s, I hope this wont cause a problem with licensing but we will see. My dream is to run Commodore front rotors and the R32 brakes but not sure if thats going to work yet on the LC. Or the other thing I might look at is the HSV 4 pots on the front.

Skyline is still not running. Stupid Loom!

Just fitted some new shelving to the sheds so have heaps more space now to tinker.

Pics up soon.

Well.... still not going. Have a mate who is a auto sparkie coming to look at it in a week or 2 so hope to have it running. Did some messurements and it looks like there is no way I am going to get it in there with stock mainifolds, so high mount and front facing intake it is.

Almost ready to hand in the paper work to the DPI. Once it gets all the ticks Ill start putting it in. If this get rejected ill give up, and look at a hotted up V6, I just want it back on the road!

And Clint, stop working on the Gem and put some time and money into the LX.

Nope not much. Still not running. No idea what I causing it and now thinking about buying one that is running and just parting this one out.

The car its self I have started organizing all the parts ready to go back on, what needs painting, powdercoating and chroming etc.

I might be widening the shed to give me some more room to work too so that will be handy.

Have the funds now to finally get my chassis kit and mounts etc so that will keep me busy. Also sussing out which brakes I'm going to us now as the r33 calipers are to far away from the rotors. Might do r32s.

So its a extremely slow build but I'm chipping away, but shit I miss driving it. Tempted to chuck a 202 back in it till all the paper work and engineering gets sorted out.

Well I cracked it and decided to pull motor out. Motor and Box is now on the KFrame sitting on the ground. Plan is to put tank there too and wire it up to get it running. Should only need the ECU, Loom to Motor and some trigger wires to get it to fire I hope.

Once the shell is gone Ill move my White LC here to trial fit everything. Once all fitted up Ill move it into the Green LC (MODNIZD). Also have setup some more shelter for winter.

Now that I am not going to run the Skyline Dash either I need to look at how I plan to get all the gauges working aswell.

Shit this has been a slow 3rd build. DON'T BUY A HOUSE IF YOUR BUILDING A TORANA.

Anyways....

So last night, I sold this and now have $14k sitting in my account waiting to go into the LC. :)

I still want to have a chat to a engineer, make sure they are happy then the dollars will be spent.

But now... I am feeling better about getting back into it finally getting it back on the road! I miss driving it.
